Lack of offense leads to yet another GSN loss
(AP) - On a particularly sunny day at Marti Park in New Wilmington, GSN fans brought out the umbrellas in an attempt to take shelter from the heat.  On the field, however, there just weren't too many things to cheer about.
"The Kids" would jump in front 2-0 in the first inning when Jake Steiner singled to knock-in Bill Steiner before coming around himself to score.  A six-run second would do in the visitors, however, creating a deficit Gentle Shepherd could not overcome.  Jon Diegan would show offensive prowess and aggressive base-running in spear-heading a GSN push that pulled "The Kids" within a run at 6-5 heading into the bottom of the fourth.  Gentle Shepherd would go down 1-2-3 in the final three innings, though—squelching any hope of staying in the ballgame.
GSN did see Shawn Shanor return to the line-up after getting permission to play from his medical trainer over a work-related accident suffered June 10th.
