GSN unable to stop defending regular season
champs from rolling on |
(AP) - Permitted to hang in game one for most of the evening, the last thing
Gentle Shepherd wanted to do was get Lebanon A going.
After finally putting up three runs in the first inning to break a
12-inning team scoreless streak, GSN appeared primed to battle Lebanon A
tooth-and-nail for the rest of the game. The opposition brought out
the bats, however, and simply kept the offense rolling. "The Kids"
trailed only 9-7 after two innings thanks to Gary Bonanno's inside-the-park
home run in the second, but that would be as close as they got.
Bill
Steiner, Rick Martell, and Gary Bonanno all scored twice for GSN—who
fell to 3-13 on the season. |
