GSN lets early lead evaporate against
Good Shepherd |
(AP) - In what has become a trend for the Gentle Shepherd softball team this
year, GSN jumped out to an early 3-0 first inning lead. In typical
fashion, that lead would not hold up.
For the fourth time in their first five games, "the Kids" scored at
least three runs in their first at-bats. With Good Shepherd clinging
to a 7-6 lead entering the bottom of the fourth, the home team erupted for
eight runs in their half of the inning to put the game out of reach.
Gary Bonanno made his first appearance on the mound in 2003 during the
fourth inning—an inning which saw GSN issue six walks.
Gary Bonanno and Shawn Shanor each scored a pair of runs for "the
Kids"—who lost in a game halted due to Good Shepherd's 10-run advantage
after five innings. This game marked the beginning of a 12-game road
trip for GSN. |
