Previously, the difference between win and loss was the letter "G", a fact that the Mole palyed upon in his/her next clue. Then came the next challenge, getting out of a jail to participate in a teleconference with the folk back home. The round ended in Rob scoring the fewest on The Quiz and being shows the door. Nine people left, and out of those, four possibles for being the Mole. Will we add or subtract from that total? Get out a pencil and your case book and keep track of the clues, because game is on....

THE MOLE: THE NEXT BETRAYAL - Byte 6

Day 19: Barga, Italy

ASSIGNMENT 1: Homemade Pizza - $20,000

Three who love to cook, three who hate to cook, and three who don't really care.   Those who hate to cool (Bill, Katie, Myra) must cook three pizzas using fourteen ingredients found within the town's houses. They have four hours to do it. If they succeed, they get the money and dinner.

An hour and a half into the game, the chefs aren't having too much luck. Until they meet Roberto; 15 years old, fluent in English, and knows everyone in town. They start to rack up the ingredients. With 2:15 remaining, they get all the ingredients. They even manage to use Roberto's sister's kitchen. With one hour remaining, they are out of the oven, but they still have to get to the church before 7pm local time. Bill drags the cart to the church to win $20,000.

WIN - $20,000 added ($226,000 total)

ASSIGNMENT 2: Bike the Mountain - $20,000

For the rest of the group, it's time for wine. If they can make it to Barga via bicycle, that's $10,000. If they get two bottles of wine, that's another $10,000. They have 1:45 to accomplish this.

Forty-five minutes into it, Dorothy is having a bit of trouble with one of the bikes. So was Heather, but she sucked it up and started carrying it. Both teams retrieve their bottle of wine, but they have 30 minutes to reach the church to win the money. Bike team 1 (Bribs, Al, and Heather) make it to the church. Bike team #2 (Darwin, Elavia, Dorothy) has only 13 minutes left. It's all up to Elavia. At the ten-minute mark, Darwin grabs the bike and walks up the steep incline to the church. The bottle says "La Mole". Clue? Perhaps.

WIN - $20,000 added ($246,000 total)

Day 20: Still in Braga.

Elavia forms a coalition with Dorothy, mainly because she has her journal.

Another clue: a plate of blueberries that says "Are you the one?"

Hold on: there are two flags on the play: Darwin and Bill had contraband ice cream and Heather touched the bikes when she wasn't supposed to. The fine is $10,000.

FINE - $10,000 taken ($236,000 total)

ASSIGNMENT 3 - Redemption - $15,000.

The Chiesa del San Salvadore, and the nine players left make a list in descending order of people they like. All but Al leave while Al gives Anderson his list. He's sent outside and ordered not to tell ANYONE what is discussed. Some further examples of the lists:

Darwin: Top, Katie; bottom, Bill.
Dorothy: Top, Heather; bottom, Bill.
Elavia: Top, Al; bottom Myra.
Heather: Top, Myra; bottom, Elavia.

"Can you come with me?" Anderson asks Elavia. Tallying the lists, Elavia is the least favorite player, but she's the one with the offer. Elavia must choose between an exemption and $5000. She takes the exemption, but Anderson sweetens the deal to $10,000. Elavia still offers for the exemption, but Anderson adds $5000 more. Elavia takes the exemption over $15,000.

LOSS - No money added ($236,000 total)

At dinner, Anderson asks the group about the most trouble they've been in. Take notes, because some of this information may be on the quiz. Afterwards, we learn that Al is reluctant to form coalitions. Darwin tries to deal, and he's in yet another coalition.

On the first shot, Myra is executed. The more into the game she went, the more she didn't know. Many players were waiting for their names to be called. They agree that she played well.
