Day 1: Somewhere in Switzerland.
At the Castle Tarasp in Scoul, Switzerland, the players are introduced to
former ABC News correspondent and current "American Morning"
co-host (not to mention once and future game show presenter) Anderson
Cooper. It's been a while, so let's reacquaint ourselves with the fourteen
probable Moles.
Al; 33; Selden, NY; distribution manager.
Ali; 26; Chicago; nurse.
Bill McDaniel; 58; Oak Harbor, WA; retired rear admiral.
Bob; 25; Redlands, CA; financial consultant.
Michael "Bribs" Bribieska; 23; Austin, TX, skiing instructor.
Darwin; 30; New York City; corporate attorney.
Dorothy Hui; 24; New York City; musician.
Elavia Bello; 26; Passaic, NJ; sales.
Heather; 25; Dallas; PR account supervisor.
Katie; 25; Penacook, NH; teacher.
Lisa; 30; Chicago; US attorney and hot-dog vendor.
Myra; 46; San Diego, CA, airline pilot.
Patrick; 51; Plainsboro, NJ; city manager.
Rob; 22; Rochester Hills, MI; videographer.
Within moments, they are given their first three assignments as part of a
leadership game.
ASSIGNMENT 1: Bike-Crossbow Biathlon (Bob, Bribs, and Rob) - $40,000
Three players have thirty minutes to ride a bike down a mountain in search
of two arrows. Upon finding them, they must ride back up the mountain and,
using a crossbow, they have to hit a target. All three are dead on for the
win.
WIN: $40,000 added/$40,000 total.
ASSIGNMENT 2: Pulse Rope Walk (Heather, Lisa, Myra, and Al) - $20,000
In a throw-forward to... The CHAIR!... (Sorry, couldn't resist.), the four
players must cross a tightrope walk while keeping their heart under 130
beats per minute. It takes a few minutes, but they all get across to win
the second assignment.
WIN: $20,000 added/$60,000 total
ASSIGNMENT 3: Swing for Life ("Or the Swing for Death, if you want to
call it that.") - $0
All you gotta do now is swing ... from a bridge above a raging rapid.
EXEMPTION: For those who forgot, an exemption gives a player an
opportunity to forego The Quiz and move onto the next stage in the game,
usually at a cost to the team. Elavia is given the opportunity to move to
the next round of the game, BUT she must volunteer not to take the swing.
Elavia votes to take the exemption, therefore the players' effort during
this game was for nought. Lucky for us that this was a non-scoring round
anyway.
LOSS: $0 added/$60,000 total
Each player is given a numbered journal, which will serve as their
casebook as to who they think the Mole is. It is the only place where they
can record information, which will be vital in the Quizzes to come.
Day 2: It's too damn hot.
ASSIGNMENT 4: Burned Bags (Katie, Ali, Patrick, Dorothy) - $40,000
Katie, Ali, Patrick, and Dorothy have been chosen to answer questions on
their group. If they fail this assignment, not only will they not win the
money, they'll lose all of their stuff. After four questions and four
incorrect answers, the team not only loses out on the money, but lose
their stuff as well (well, we know what happens, but even so, the look on
their faces is priceless).
LOSS: $0 added, fourteen bags burned/$60,000 total.
Day 3: The first execution. Again.
THE QUIZ: Ten questions about the Mole's identity.
1) Is the Mole male or female?
2) What was the Mole's role during the Leadership game?
3) At the villa, the Mole slept in which room?
4) What was the Mole's originating airport?
5) Which seat was the Mole in at the Castle Tarasp?
6) Where did the Mole attend college?
7) How old is the Mole?
8) What was the Mole's most embarrassing moment?
9) What kind of wine did the Mole drink before the Burned Bags game?
10) And this will be the tenth question on ALL Quizzes, WHO IS THE MOLE?
EXECUTION 1: Anderson will enter the names in the computer. Green
screen is good, red screen is bad. Remember, Elavia has an exemption and
will not be eliminated.
Ali - GREEN
Katie - GREEN
Al - GREEN (let's.... let's stay together...)
Patrick - GREEN
Bob - RED.
Bob is the Mole's first victim. His final words were those of good luck
and well-wishing. Everyone thinks that he would have made a good friend.
Everyone's also shocked that Bob was NOT the Mole.
