Remember that "Mother of All Storms" that ripped through the night before? Well, her ugly sister visited tonight! And this is where the problems with the "log cabin" shelter rear their ugly heads. The water spilled into the ditch Rupert dug, essentially making the "stupid shelter" useless. Rupert knows he needs to build a shelter TODAY to keep his tribemates dry...and, more important, keep them from voting him out. Jerri is shivering and wet...and upset as all hell. "It's just not worth it," she says...but whether it's about the poor shelter design or the game as a whole is open for debate.

DAY 10: THE DAY AFTER
Needless to say, no sleep was had...and everyone's hands were puffed up like nobody's business. The shelter is a shambles (just as that contractor the other day said it would become). Ethan says it was the "worst night of my life". Jerri is inconsolable, and doesn't care about anything. Rupert angrily disassembles the shelter, and feels Jerri will be fine once she's warm again. For now, though, shelter and fire are priorities one and two.

REWARD CHALLENGE: THE MATCHMAKERS
"In this game of give and take
Give too much...big mistake
Take it all from friend or foe
And you'll be clean from head to toe"

Uncle Jeff meets us on Challenge Beach...where it looks like we got it the WORST from that storm, as Mogo Mogo and Chapera seem to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Mogo Mogo brags about Mr. Hatch catching three eels while dangling his own. And Susan from Chapera and Richard from Mogo Mogo get into a little friendly shouting match. Hey, animosity between the competing tribes...it may not help MUCH, but it'll helps.

All right, to the challenge. It's an elaborate game of "go fish". Each player has four items in a hooded box and must ask another player (from any tribe, even their own) if they have something similar. If that other player does, the first player makes a point for their tribe. The tribe that scores the most points wins reward: the Survivor Bathroom. It includes a solar shower, a nice toilet with seat and TP, toiletries (mouthwash, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.) and other things to make a tribe nice and clean. In addition, top two get another key clue to the Sammy Hagar "Three-Lock Box" they have...so our foes could have their fill of rice before the day is done. Big Tom and Susan sit out, as does Colby. Since we're the low group member-wise, ALL of us must play.

We draw lots to see who starts...and Chapera goes first. Boston Rob asks "Pretty Boy" Ethan for a rock, and Ethan says, "You have a few in your head"...but he has none in his box. Richard then pairs B-Rob's rock with his one, putting Mogo Mogo in the early lead. Rupert gets a sponge from Amber to give US our first point. But Amber strikes back by nabbing Kathy's "seed" to make it a three-way...tie.

Mogo Mogo pairs shells to go ahead, Ethan grabs a coral from Shii Ann's box to tie it up again, but Chapera knots things up yet in quick order. Lex screws up in trying to get Jenna to "tickle him with her feather"...since she has none. But ALICIA does and takes Colby's. Jerri (who's in a far better mood) takes Richard's coconut...shell to tie things up yet again.

OK, I won't go play-by-play here (I'll save that for the WPT recaps). Chapera pulls ahead with Mogo Mogo lagging behind, but Rupert ties it up for Saboga. It seems to be a battle between Chapera and us. Lex is the first KOed as his box is emptied. Jenna is next out, giving Chapera a BIGGER lead. Ethan finally asks a fellow tribe member - Jerri - for something she has. Hey, it's still a match.

Down to a few matches left, Chapera and Saboga are tied at 7 with Mogo Mogo close with 5. Rupert and Kathy KO each other when Rupert matches his driftwood with Kathy's, putting us ahead. Richard is KOed when Bahston Rob takes his sponge and ties the game. It's down to Alicia, who gets Jerri's seed and clinches it for Chapera. But, for once, Saboga isn't in third! Chapera gets the bathroom set and rice, but at least we're as close to getting rice as Mogo Mogo is. And Mogo Mogo...gets, as a famous X-Play saying goes, "Dik Dik"!

DAY 11: BODIES, REST & MOTION
With a new makeshift shelter built from the remnants of the cabin, everyone slept fairly well last night. Rupert is a little proud of himself. Even Jerri is feeling better after sleeping in. Saboga is very busy this morning: Rupert is fishing for shellfish, Jerri is fixing the roof to make it more waterproof, Jenna is fetching water to boil and Ethan...is doing whatever he does. A nice hot meal of fish and oysters really hits the spot, and the sunny day matches the tribe's outlook...and they BETTER have a good outlook, since they're 0-2 in the...

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: FIVE EASY PIECES (PLUS TEN)
OK, remember that Immunity Challenge we were SUPPOSED to have had two days ago if not for Jenna M.'s family emergency? Well, it's still at Challenge Beach for us. First, one tribe member will issue verbal commands to the other three - who shall be blindfolded - to gather 15 large puzzle pieces around the beach and deliver them to their square. Once all the pieces are gathered, the blindfolds come off and we piece together a large cube from the pieces. First two to make a cube wins immunity. Jerri will be our "eyes" as Rupert, Ethan and Jenna wait patiently.

When Uncle Jeff gives us the word to go, we run down the beach...into a small ravine. So, naturally, we're floundering about trying to get our bearings. Jerri helps with the shouting of instructions, but we fall behind early. We make up for it when all three members drop pieces into our square...and one of them is dropped on Colby going back to get more. We make some good efforts, but it's Big Tom who's the real laugher, running into people, tripping over pieces...even getting a mild concussion smacking head-first into a piece! We make up for lost time, pulling ahead with 11 pieces to Chapera's 9 and Mogo Mogo's 7.

After Big Tom's clobbering, Chapera and Saboga are down to their last piece to gather. Chapera gets theirs first and starts to assemble the puzzle. We get the final piece as a team and start on OUR puzzle. Mogo Mogo...still has some pieces to get, but they eventually catch up.

Now it's a race to build the cube. Chapera struggles, but Saboga - with Jerri's leadership - starts to get things together, so to speak. It's so easy for us; I wonder why we weren't this smart in the LAST two Immunity Challenges! We win the challenge and await the co-owner of the idol. Chapera STILL has problems and Mogo Mogo, as it did LAST time, catches up. And Chapera, like Saboga last time, goes from first to worst. Mogo Mogo wins immunity with us...and we watch Chapera get their first loss.

MAN, it feels good to win! It feels even BETTER to see someone else go to Tribal Council except us. Wait'll we see Chapera without Little Rob around.
