*groans* Ohhhhhh...I had the weirdest dream. I dreamt I was forced to
do tribal recaps for the tribe that knocked my own tribe...the one that
grabbed Ethan and Jerri for their own evil purposes...and the only GOOD
point was that Richard and his "Little Richard" were sent home before I
could start. *sighs* Thank God it was only a nightmare...
(Gordogram: Yo rookie - Chico hasn't gotten his car washed yet. Go do it - and after the recap, you need to go get my dog a pedicure.)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
(Despite the fact that Richard's gone, viewer discretion IS
advised...and you'll find out why...)
DAY 16: LIFE WITHOUT DICK (...ER, RICHARD)
It's a new day...dawning without the Original Sole Survivor in the
tribe. Jerri (one of the Saboga refugees) admits that everyone
scrambled to vote for Richard at the last minute en route to Tribal
Council. Kathy had THOUGHT about voting for Colby...but decided to
SIDE with him this time. Shii Ann thinks Kathy is a "power player" and
has neatly wrapped the Mogo Mogo tribe around her finger.
Speaking of Shii Ann, she tells Colby that she knows that HE knows
about her "flying under the radar" strategy. Colby doesn't respect
people who don't make decisions during the game and just try to coast
along as Shii Ann is doing. Shii Ann is NOT impressed, since SHE
doesn't respect HIS way of playing...though she's smart enough NOT to
tell him that.
DAY 17: SOUL FOOD
Y'know that point in the game where, after a long time on the same
steady diet, you start to daydream about other foods? Well, Jerri's at
that point in the game. Saboga had a lot of plantains and coconuts to
keep them fed...but Mogo Mogo only has rice. So she's starting to
dream about honey roasted peanut butter and marshmallows...and she even
starts a "grocery list". This, of course, drives the OTHER tribe
members bonkers with daydreams.
Shii Ann starts to regret voting out the "provider", Richard. Lex
takes the fishing spear and goes out to fill Richard's shoes (as he
wanted to). Ethan decides NOT to fish, hoping to get HIS shot at the
"provider" role in the near future. But Lex shows he is an excellent
fisherman, collecting close to a dozen fish. Colby thinks Lex is major
competition...and Lex agrees.
Later on, it's Tree-Mail:
"You'll do some high-stepping
While rewards sail through the sky
So wave you hands and stamp your feet
Your taste buds will tell you why"
And the message is on a small bag of...COFFEE BEANS! Oooooooo! But
the travel to get the mail was just an excuse for Jerri to talk with
Lex alone. She says he can trust her "one hundred fifty thousand
percent". She "adores" Lex...and Lex reciprocates. However, secretly,
Lex is not above exploiting "friends" to win the game.
LATER DAY 17: VOLCANO
So we arrive at Challenge Beach and plant our flag alongside Chapera's.
Uncle Jeff mentions that Richard has been ditched...and asks for
opinions about what happened at the Immunity Challenge yesterd...WHOA!
TAKE COVER! MOUNT ST. SUE-HAWK IS ERUPTING!
It seems that just the MENTION of the incident has set something off in
Susan. She says she was "sexually violated" by Richard and she starts
ranting at high volume at Jeff about how humiliated she was
(essentially taking back everything she said about him the night she
voted him the Sole Survivor four years ago). She's starting to wish
she had never left that cushy TV Guide Channel gig, huh?
During her tirade, Sue says the magic words: "I'm through with this
game!" When Jeff asks for confirmation, she says she's walking out.
Pulling another "Osten"...only THIS time is for FAR less dire reasons
than Jenna M. did. Colby tries to explain that THEY had to deal with
Richard being naked EVERY DAY and have learned to deal with it. But
Sue's been traumatized and her mind's been out of the game for the last
day.
So Jeff calls for the boat to drag Sue out. Everyone feels sorry for
her as she hugs her former tribe mates in farewell. Jeff escorts Sue
to the boat, then walks back as she's sped away.
When Uncle Jeff returns, he decides to give us an option: forget the
corny challenge, sit down to discuss this turn of events and split the
reward evenly...or just play it through with "winner take all" to
return to SOME degree of normalcy. The twelve answer unanimously, "We
want to play!"
REWARD CHALLENGE: THE TWO TOWERS
There are two baskets on towers eight feet high. Each tribe will take
six items - bag of coffee beans, pineapple, bag of sugar, bag of mixed
nuts, bag of oranges and a block of beef - place them one at a time on
an adjustable plank under the tower and stomp on the other end,
HOPEFULLY catapulting the item into the basket. Each tribe member must
put one item in and the tribe cannot move to the next item until the
current one is done. First one to put all six in the basket wins a
number of filet mignion shish-ka-bobs AND all the items in the basket.
After discussing order the tribes ready themselves, with Ethan starting
against Big Tom. Ethan takes the oranges and overshoots, but Tom gets
the pineapple in on the first stomp. While Jenna runs up for the
second item, Ethan "puts the biscuit in the basket" and runs back to
tag Shii Ann. It takes some adjusting of the plank, but the girls get
to stomping. It's Shii Ann, however, who puts Mogo Mogo ahead.
Jerri is our third person and, while Jenna struggles with number 2,
Jerri gets it in-and-out once before putting it in on the second try.
Colby is fourth...and Jenna STILL has problems, despite coaching from
Chapera. Colby makes it a 4-1 game with a well-timed stomp. As Kathy
loads up #5, Jenna FINALLY sinks #2 and tags in Bah-stin Rob. Kathy
misses her first shot, but both she and Rob sink the next shots. 5-3
with Lex as the anchor.
Lex only has the block of beef to get up there. It's a rather small
block, so he overpowers it twice. Meanwhile, Alicia makes it 5-4 and
tags in Amber. She tries her best but, with Lex's fourth stomp, he
gets the beef in and wins reward for Mogo Mogo! They get the
shish-ka-bobs and all the food...and makes Chapera wish they had talked
about Sue and shared the grub instead. "It's been an eventful day,"
says Uncle Jeff. "Tomorrow's another day."
AFTERNOON 17: REAL MEN EAT MEAT
So we sizzle up them ka-bobs and our mouths are watering. Colby was
drooling just DESCRIBING it to the cameras after the meal...and Ethan
wanted to SLEEP with the meat! (We will NOT go into that!) They discuss
about Sue leaving and then losing the challenge as sort of a
double-whammy for them. But they take SOME comfort in that Chapera
wanted to play as much as they did. Shii Ann says Richard would have
never "violated" anyone like that...but the accusation by Sue is hard
for everyone to swallow.
DAY 18: MOGO MOGO'S DAY OFF
Because of Susan's departure, the Immunity Challenge and Tribal Council
are, once again, cancelled. My tribe has lucked out again. We don't
even have anything that happened to us this day shown to the world
since everyone is concerned about Chapera's reaction.
Godspeed, Susan. If it means anything, I feel you DIDN'T make the
right choice! We've ALL been traumatized by "Little Richard", even
this reporter! You're a TRUCKER! You should be USED to this! GO
HOME, you loser!
