Day 10: See Joanna. See Joanna work. Work, Joanna, work.

"Oh, lordy lordy lordy," Joanna sighs, "another day in the Amazon." Everyone was going to wake up early today to finally get a semblance of organization going. Joanna woke up to no firewood, and thus, no fire, so that's what she took care of. The younger girls, though, are a bit lax in their shares of the working. "Every morning I am woken up by two women shooting me horrendous looks... trying to make everyone feel bad like they aren't doing enough to help around camp... and it's driving the tribe, especially me, up the wall," complained Shawna. Heidi echoes that sentiment, as we hear the rambles of her inner psyche. "You have to figure out what gets you ahead in the game, not in life. You want to do that extra work, fine, but I'm going to sit here, maybe I'll take a nap. But I guarantee you that's what's going to get me ahead of the game."

Girlfriend, it didn't work for Sarah Jones, it ain't gonna work for you.

Later that day: When you're lucky, you're REALLY lucky.

Joanna returns to camp not soon after she went fishing... "I went to get the thing and another little fish was already caught on my... thing." There's a Bill Cosby reference in there somewhere. "Just went to get the line out the water..." Ah, so we know what the thing is now. In this case, it translates to "two more bitefuls."

Speaking of bitefuls, Heidi's chewing (out) the fat... again. "The work ethic in our camp is definitely creating friction. Bigger women have more fat to live on, obviously can put forth more effort. Then you've got the smaller girls who are like the stay-at-home women." Stupid gym teachers. This leads Jenna to plot a way to do more work in the game with less effort. THIS leads Joanna to throw some knowledge up on the grill: "Anything worth achieving is worth working for. Beauty is deceitful, and favor is vain. Only your virtue will last."

Heidi failed to see the connection, other than "she was trying to pick on cute girls." Heidi, there's a time and a place for playing the game, and this is neither. That IS, unless, something happens. But in the meanwhile, it's back to checking each other out. (mocking) "Oh, look, do I have something on my incredibly firmed and tight butt?" (/mocking)

"Don't be mad 'cause we have good bodies," Jenna explained. "It's not out fault, get over it! Me and Heidi are definitely the skinnier of the group but I think it's definitely a liability." She goes on to say that she wanted to be on a tribe of men so that wouldn't have to be a liability. And so, we only know two things about Jenna: 1) Her woman powers aren't working, and 2) she uses 'definitely' a lot.

Heidi knew that she wanted to ally with either Shawna or Jenna. After Shawna expresses remorse over the older folk working while the younger folk are doing little more than drawing the coveted 18-35 male demographic, Heidi decided to ally with both. Shawna, on the other hand, successfully sways Deena's favor. So the Are You Hot? rejects have the leader, and the game is suddenly afoot. Deena, on the other hand, has a hidden agenda more akin to persuasion of the younger, flakier crowd over the older, wiser crowd.

Day 11:

R-CHALLENGE: Light My Fire (for refrigerator stocked with a leading brand of cola, three flavors)

Each tribe has four pieces of twine connected to four banners. Once revealed, the banners will spell the name of the winning tribe. However, each piece of twine must be broken by fire. They must create fire using flint, steel, magnifying glass, and driftwood. The tribe that releases all of their banners wins. At first, the women start out strong, but the men take their time, holding back the wind with their own brute strength. For the men, heat plus fuel plus oxygen equals a refrigerator.

Later that day: Break it down...

"Give me ten minutes to emotionally and physically reset myself. I don't have any motivation to go anywhere. My body is sucking energy from my left toe. I am just so tired." Deena counters: "You just allowed yourself to get dehydrated. If you allow yourself to get rehydrated..." Shawna re-counters: "I am just breaking hour by hour. After we lost that Coke, it took everything in my brain not to just lay on the sand and just say, I needed a three hour break. I feel like a blubbering idiot." And Heidi is once again playing the game a bit too early, stressing that she needs Shawna for their alliance.

Then Shawna drops a bombshell. "I don't see myself lasting for 30 more days." In fact, if they were voting tonight, Shawna would more than likely endorse a vote against herself. I could comment here, but Deena put it so perfectly:

"Shut up, drink your water like you were supposed to be and quit acting like this is the worst day of your entire life."

EARLY Day 12: Midnight mail call.

"Rise and shine before the sun.
It'll be 4:30am for everyone.
Get in your canoe,
you've fishing to do,
Fail and your tribe could be done."

A limerick. Cute. It has a piranha. Cuter. Jeanne's "We'll kick butt on this one." Cutest.

I-CHALLENGE: Gone Fishin'

Jeff gives our heroes everything they'll need to catch some nasty piranhas, line, bait, a pole, hooks, and pliers. Each tribe will have one hour to catch as many fish as possible. The tribe who catches the most fish, by weight, not only wins immunity, BUT gets to take their catch home. Both tribes come out angling, but in the end, it's the men of Tambaqui with the most by weight, giving them immunity. So another woman will go home tonight.

Let's take an analysis of who's on the block tonight.

Shawna: Shawna takes a dive in the middle of walking. Jeanne believes that she needs to get her health back. On the other hand, Deena wants to put Shawna in her place. She is needed for the Alliance to maintain its dominance. Deena won't let Shawna leave.

Joanna: Jenna, in what may be the first time ever talking to Christy, tries to convince her to vote out Joanna. In the end, it comes down to nerves over sickness. "Shawna wants to get out, but at the same time, we're making her trapped."

Another added tidbit: Shawna may vote against the alliance.

Night 12: Tribal Council.

Heidi feels like they've got their act together as a tribe, and is surprised that they lost. Jeanne comments on an even distribution of work based on roles. Joanna isn't a mother, but she is a spirituality figurehead, commenting on her boyish. Deena is commenting on her tribe, as Christy gets better and as Shawna gets worse.

And as the man like to say, "It is time to vote."

Heidi: JOANNA - "You are a very very strong competitor, and I have an alliance with other people."

Jeanne: SHAWNA - "You are a good kid. You need some TLC to get you back into good health. I'll miss you."

Joanna: SHAWNA - "Only because you asked me to."

Deena: JOANNA - "You are an incredibly strong woman, physically, spiritually, mentally... Therefore you are my biggest competition."

So far, the count's at two. Here are the other votes.

Christy: JOANNA

Jenna: JOANNA

Shawna: CHRISTY

Shawna's vote is concealed. The count is 4-2-1 in favor of Joanna. Preach to the choir on this one, yo... THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN. Time for you to meet your maker.

Jeff has some words that are either foreboding of events at camp or the game itself. "Don't get too comfortable in this game, because you never know what's going to happen next."
