Everyone is saying how wonderful a certain New Yorker has been playing this game. Rob, from the very onset, has been wanting to hang out with the ladies and be the pimp daddy. The irony is that he got what he wanted - only to see that the women were going to get rid of him first from the popular clique anyways. If he stayed with his nerdish friends of Matt, Heidi and Butch, he could have navigated himself into an easy Final 2 slot. Now he'll be in the next 2 to go, since he's the lowest chain in that group and the women trust him as far as they can throw him.

Rob has had the same problem that almost all of the guys have - he's picked the wrong pony. He should have stayed with Roger and Dave and Butch - and rode the annoying Roger all the way to the finals. THAT would have been good strategy. Or even have a Rob/Matt/Butch/Christy alliance from the beginning. Because now, you pissed off the girls, and even though one of them will be leaving this episode, I am sure that they will be doing enough damage to Rob's reputation and scheming to seriously hinder his progress in the game. To satisfy your adolescent fantasy may have been fun, but playing that role instead of truly playing smart will cost you the million bucks.

OK. I'm done venting. Time to do the recap.

We start the episode with the aftermath of Rob's decision to get rid of Alex. 'I felt betrayed more than I have ever felt in my life...we hate him...me and Heidi will never forgive him.' Rob says that they can talk to him in private. Matt tells them that it's a game - and reminded them that they voted for him to go. The women are betrayed - and they are taking this game way too seriously. I wouldn't mind seeing them both go.

Speaking of tears, here comes the rain. That puts out the fire, and it also wrecks the shelter. Time to rebuild. While they are rebuilding, Heidi comes over to Christy and asks her to join them. NOW Heidi tries to be nice - too bad that it was 28 days too late. Christy says that she doesn't think that she can get further with the guys - but she prefers to hang out with them then with the girls. 'Is it better to win a million dollars or is it better to be the final girl and kick butt?'

While she's thinking about it, we have the reward challenge. It's a race - there are 4 paddles buried in the sand. The first four people to get those race to a mini-island that has a trivia question. You grab a bag of puzzle pieces that correlates to one of the answers, then you get to go to the opposite shore and the first two people to get the puzzle pieces get to complete the puzzle. The person who des this the quickest wins the reward, which will be a visit from their loved one. That's cruel, Jeff. But we all know that everyone will get to see their loved one - so there has to be some sort of catch here...

Butch and Heidi get knocked out from the start, as they are the 2 people who don't find the paddles. Heidi's starting to tear up again. Someone hand her a hankie.

Matthew takes a commanding lead - and he is joined by Rob. Christy and Jenna do not get to the puzzle quickly enough and they are out of the game. Matthew keeps the lead - and he gets the reward. Now it's Jenna's turn to cry. Maybe the reward challenge should be a trip to Costco's or BJ's to get tissues in bulk.
So Matthew wins it and gets to see his mom. BUT Uncle Jeffie comes over to Matt and gives him an option - he can let everyone else see their relatives - if he gives up his right to see his. Matt, of course, agrees to that, and all of them see their loved ones. Awwwwwwwwwwbarf. Heidi finally gets to see her mom, Christy sees her boyfriend, Rob gets to see his mom, Butch gets to see his wife, and Jenna gets to see her dad.

But you know that they will let Matt see his loved one. Here's the catch - Matt and his mom will get to see an Amazonian tribe and spend the night together. Awwwwwwwwblech.

'It's not the conventional mother/son relationship' says Matt. I don't think anything with Matt is ever conventional. Mom says that she talks to Matt at home - except he's not at home - he's at the island and mom talks to him absent son anyways. I am not making this up. It definitely runs in the family. Matt and mom exchange hugs at the end of the show and Matt goes back to the tribe.

Meanwhile, everyone else at camp is getting happy. Butch may have gotten a little too happy with the wine - 5 bottles worth of wine. 'It was like a rap video' says Rob, who intimates that Butch may have also soiled himself. Very nice, Rob.

Remember when the women said that they hate Rob? Rob is now trying to play nice-nice with the girls,. 'They hate my guts, but I want them to remember all of the nice times we had. Why does everyone have to dwell on the negatives?' Well, it's because he tries to be slimy and sneaky - like him trying to tell Jenna that he wants her to be in the final 2. That goes as over as a lead balloon and Jenna tells Heidi - and they decide to tell the rest of the tribe. 'It's like trying to hang out with 2 ex-girlfriends who hate me. I'm trying to act like a jerk, and I am a jerk, you just haven't realized it for 31 days.'

Jenna and Rob blow up at each other. That continues to permeate through Heidi 'You'll continue to win if you screw everybody.' Ouch. I see a pattern of over plotting here - don't you? That immunity is starting to look like a must-win for three of those people - obviously Jenna and Heidi - but now you can also add Rob, who as predicted, has been completely exposed by the girls. Richard Hatch, you're not, Rob. But at least Butch is standing by Rob,'They have the right to put your name on their card, just like we have the right to put their name on our card.'

Heidi and Jenna are now really trying to work on Christy. And all of them being mean to Christy throughout the game has finally bit them in the asp. 'Since when have you ever wanted to talk to me? Because I have the power.'

But who has the real immunity power? We'll be playing Survivor Slingshot - and then Survivor Shuffleboard. The first round has people breaking plates. Each plate hit by the slingshot gets a puck. They then play shuffleboard. After a lot of loose pucks, Jenna gets to the center X - and she wins immunity. It looks like bye-bye Heidi.

Or does it? Rob is now concerned that Christy is going to vote with the women. He tries to corner her on it, and Christy says that she's not sure. That turns out to be a huge mistake on Christy's part, because Rob feels like he can no longer trust Christy. So he goes over to Heidi and tries to convince her to vote out Christy with the new alliance of four - Rob, Matt, Heidi and Jenna. Heidi agrees with that plan, and all of a sudden, the whiny girls are back in the game.

Tribal council time - And Rob, Christy, Heidi and Jenna don't believe that they can they can do. Christy believes that she is in the position of power in the game. The problem for Christy is she believes that she holds the power of the vote - but she has underestimated the power of Rob in this game. She may have also underestimated Heidi and Jenna, who have switched immunity - Jenna gives Heidi the immunity necklace, and that now leaves Jenna vulnerable.

That switch apparently works - Butch and Christy do vote for Jenna. Everyone else votes for Christy. A shocked Christy is knocked out of the game.

She remains shocked as she gives her ending testimonial - but she blames the girls for her loss and she says that neither of the evil stepsisters will get her vote. We rewind the tape and go back to Uncle Jeffy. 'It is one thing to get to the final 2. It is another thing to get the votes needed to win a million dollars.'

Rob did play a rotten game earlier on this episode - but he redeemed himself in spades for the last 15 minutes of the episode. Not only did he shift power back to his side, he let Christy believe that it was the girls, and not Rob, who orchestrated her departure. Rob made himself the power player - for now. Here's the problem - the women know that he can't be trusted, and Butch and Matt also know now that he can't be trusted. All of the power players in this game have all landed in the same place - the jury. We'll see if Rob continues this trend next week.
