Day 28: Nothing good has ever come out of Durham.

Now that Monk is no longer on Thursdays, we're stuck with this guy. Ted, sitting on the beach, came to a conclusion after the vote last night: the three Sook Jai have targeted him. Jake informed Ted that former Chuay Gahn members, namely Clay (but of course, that's not what he said), told him to vote for Ted. Ted doesn't believe it, of course. "Ted didn't know that we instigated those votes for him, and he won't," said Clay.

But enough of the confusion for now. Let's go straight to the challenge:

R-CHALLENGE: Knockout - for a Thai meal and an elephant ride.

A four-tiered obstacle course awaited the Survivors this go round, as the teams were instructed to pair off (three pairs and one person who will be eliminated already). Tier one: the Survivors (except odd-man-out Jake) must negotiate their way through a maze of planks and towers. Helen/Jan are forced to walk the plank (buh-bye!). Tier two: belly-crawl under a bamboo bridge. Penny's left six feet under (buh-bye!). Tier three: simple wall climb. Clay gets over first and, forced to choose between Brian and Ted, chooses Brian, leaving Ted... err... hanging (buh-bye!). Brian and Clay race in the final tier: a balance beam. Brian beats Clay to the punch and the prize, but it's all good, as he chooses Clay to accompany him on the ride of a lifetime of the series.

Grr. Ted angry. Ted crush. Or, rather, Ted is crushed. "Losing the Challenge was a big disappointment to me because I hate losing. But I was also shocked that Brian did pick Clay. The fact that he did select Clay kind of tells me that their bond is much closer than I thought it was." Brian offers a rebuttal: "I have an agreement with Ted, and my agreement with Clay is another. I have to see which option is going to work best for me down the road."

And speaking of which...

Day 29: On a Magic Elephant Ride...

A helicopter arrives on the beach for Brian and Clay. From the chopper, they get a spectacular look at the island. Then they land on an island where they are greeted by Thai locals, who introduce them to the prototype for Bart's elephant Stampy. There's your ride, fellas. Now ride her. Clay is taking back the lush surroundings. Brian is holding on for dear life ... and for once it's not involving the game. "Brian was terrified of this elephant. He had a death grip on the side of the chair the entire time. For two hours he stayed ready to jump off that elephant!", Clay said after their ride. Upon the finish, Brian raced off the pachyderm, and what did the twosome see, but, as Jeff promised, an authentic Thai lunch! And it didn't even cost Clay and Brian anything, as the whole journey was billed on Jeff's fake Visa.

MEANWHILE...

Back at camp, Jake tries to start (BLEEP!) and play up the Chuay Gahn to get rid of Brian or Clay. Jake approached Helen: "The only way for us to win this game is to get rid of either Brian or Clay." Helen wasn't ready quite yet to 'keep an eye on Jake the Snake.' Who could blame her?

Night 29... almost.

The two come back via boat with leftovers. Okay, so that's helicopter, van, elephant, boat, and walking. Five, count'em, five modes of transportation!

So Clay arrives, singing "Here Comes Santa Claus" (no doubt because this is the last episode before Thanksgiving). Brian notes that they are like lost sheep awaiting their masters (see above side comment). The others partake on the feast, as Ted remains on the beach.

Day 30: Not as Nelehian as we thought, are we? Oh my heck!

Meanwhile, citing past Councils Penny notes that the vote tonight is primarily against her and Jake, trying to separate what's left of the SJA. "I am fighting for my life right now. I can't stay around Jake anymore because that hurts me in the end."

I-CHALLENGE: Snuff It

Similar in theory to last season's coconut game, in which a pecking order was inadvertently revealed. Each player is given a multi-choice quiz and three torches. You're out if all of your torches are put out. Last one standing (dramatic pause) wins the immunity talisman. That goes to Helen.

Note: in the IC, Penny backs up her statement by snuffing Jake's torch first.

Night 24: Tribal Council.

Ted confesses that he votes based on past actions and based on the million at the end. Jake notes the CG's behavior in his voting. Clay thinks it's a game of deception (but then again, he would). Penny thinks that strategic lying is best. And Jan... Jan's just paranoid. Helen... has the first vote. And since I can't remember any of the comments made (yeah, like they make a hell of a lot of difference), let's go straight to the tally.

Helen - PENNY

Jake - JAN

Ted - PENNY

Clay - JAKE

Penny - JAKE

Jan - PENNY

Brian - PENNY

Four to two to one. Penny, THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN.
