Day 19: The chicken crows. Except the
one in Clarence's stomach. Chicken's revenge sends Clarence to the bushes
to do his work. Unfortunately, he forgets he's in Africa and is looking
nose to trunk with an elephant. So here we are. Day 19. Wondering if
the planned merge will take place. Waiting is a bitch. Everyone's
just hanging out for now, talking about when and if this merge will take
place. I personally can't think that Frank doesn't know what brunch is.
It's not quite breakfast, it's not quite lunch, but it comes with a
cantaloupe at the end. You don't get as much food as lunch, but you get a
good meal (anyone who can tell me from what episode of 'The Simpsons' this
comes will get my everlasting gratitude. :) )
Day 20: The wait continues. Clarence has mail. It's an immunity
challenge.
"Let your hand down, and it may be your last shower." Big
question. Is it individual or is it a group challenge?
I-CHALLENGE: Last Shower
Jeff starts by announcing the merger, and the new team color: green.
We'll all live in our camp. Time for the individual immunity. Step on a
log, and raise your arm. The arm is rigged to a water bucket, which will
dump water on the slightest twitch. Last man standing wins immunity.
Jeff starts to take his union-mandated water break, bucket not included.
After 14 minutes, Kelly is the first to go. Then, Kim P., Brandon, and Kim
J. and Tom after 36 minutes. Frank is next (which Brandon called),
followed by Teresa singing (she'll be here all week, try the veal!). Jeff
comes back 2:17 later with an all-American cheeseburger, playing his
temptation card. Hmm... Immunity or food. What a choice. At the
latest time mark, we're still down to Ethan, Teresa, Lex, and Clarence. No
one's looking. Next course: Pizza. Jeff, you are a bastard!
Lex buckles and grabs a slice. Ethan's next to go. The face off
begins; Clarence and Teresa. They discuss some strategy as Jeff brings
lunch: chicken among other things. You can cut the tension with a
knife. Now it's a question of trust, but no one seems to buy it. Teresa
doesn't seem to buy what Clarence is selling. Same with Clarence but with
the name's reversed. But the last one to go is... still
undetermined after 6 hours. It all came down to a game of rock, paper,
scissors. Teresa won it - and immunity. Tonight: new name.
Tomorrow: tribal council. Let's head back to Boran Camp, as we are talking
about the challenge. All, except for Frank, for some reason.
Mail. Basically three things: make a new flag, decide on a name, and
have a celebratory feast. Frank, on the other hand, started gathering
wood. While the rest of us are cheering, Frank's working. Kelly
doesn't think that Frank's a big threat being a loner. Tom is busy
eyeing Teresa. Time for "I Never," right before deciding on a
name. I found out from stuff about the rest of the tribe: Tom never has
been turned on by a 56-year-old woman. Frank never broke the honor of a
handshake. Other things turn up as an elephant also turns up (so says
Frank). We don't know what he was doing, but whatever it is, it's not
really working. Frank says he's trying to make it relax by mimicking him.
Night 20: The ten of us are busy trying to come up with a name for the new
tribe. Lex decides on Morimoto... magimoto... Moto... maji... Moto
Maji? Is that it? Whatever it is, it's fire and water in Swahili. So there
you go.
Day 21: At this point, the game has really changed, because these
remaining people, save the one voted tonight, are ultimately going to
decide your fate. Frank is paranoid that he might be the next to go.
Looking at the others, I can understand why.
The chicken struts his stuff for Clarence, who is preparing the tribe
flag. We figure that whoever is voted off this round doesn't really have a
clue about it. Kelly is discerning that Lex is going to vote off Clarence
(nothing personal). A truth? A half-truth? No one knows for
sure. Kelly likes him. He's "part of the group, unlike crazy
outcast Frank." Clarence and Tom discuss voting Brandon off. So
who'll make the long walk home? Teresa said that she will not go back on
her word and will not vote Clarence off. It's time for...
Night 21: The first Moto Maji tribal council. Lex tells Jeff of the
new name. Ethan tells him of group dynamics with the new tribe. Brandon
has never known Frank to smile. But after the jokes, we've all seen a much
more human side. Tom stresses that the game is still on even though
we've much laid back since the merge. Teresa and Clarence were the last
holdouts
in the immunity challenge. Teresa has security. Clarence had hope
that loyalty was remaining. So what made him quit? Rock, paper,
scissors, and he's a man of his word. Is it fair to say that the game
changes? It depends on what you say and how you say it. Whoever
survives this vote will go to the end. Let's see.
Clarence - Lex (Respect, but not making things easy)
Lex - Clarence (You've made some huge mistakes, but you've come a long
way, and I came to win)
Teresa - Lex (Strength reasons)
The final tally:
Clarence - 8
Lex - 2
Two votes remain hidden, but, Clarence... THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN. Time
to
go. The remaining nine will go to the end, as a jury member, or one of the
final two. But in the game of Survivor, that is the only guarantee.
