Sixteen strangers isolated from all humanity, are loaded onto a caravan toward Shaba reserve, in the heart of the Kenyan desert. Together, they must build a new society and adapt to the harsh surroundings (think 120 degree days and scarce water supplies) or be voted out of the tribe. Thirty-nine days. Sixteen people. One Survivor.

Lets meet the Boran Tribe, always clad in gold.

Clarence Black; 24; Detroit; Basketball coach.
Diane Ogden; 42; Lincoln, Nebraska; Mail carrier.
Ethan Zohn; 27; New York City; Professional soccer player.
Jessie Camacho; 27; Orlando, Florida; Sheriff.
Kelly Goldsmith; 22; Rancho Santa Fe, California; Behavioral research analyst.
Kim Johnson; 57; Oyster Bay, New York; Retired schoolteacher.
Lex van den Berghe; 38; Santa Cruz, California; Marketing manager.
Tom Buchanan; 46; Rich Valley, Virginia; Farmer.

With a quick Have a nice day, bye bye, the driver leaves the two tribes stranded. The tribes, who have been silent for the entire trip, break their silence in neverending cheers. The Boran begin to go over the warnings and precautions of the landscape, saying that adapting and rationing their supplies will be crucial to their survival and that any water that you find must be boiled first.

Our team begins to dump out the rationed water, because its too heavy to carry. Ethan says that the first issue of the tribe, that being confident is not a problem. Tell that to Tom, who complains of zigzagging endlessly through the desert. The tribe continues to hike, following the map to their home away from home for the next 39 days. Diane falls over just prior to the rest of the tribe finding the gold Boran flag. They are the first to do so. Boran celebrated with a drink of freshwater and the initiation by Ethan and Clarence of the Boran handshake (jazz fingers on anothers palms).

Day 1: First treemail: Welcome to the new home. Our hut is in serious need of repair. Make sure fence is secure, make sure the fire is always burning at night, and always keep two people awake on the lookout for animals. There is a water stream you will share with a local tribe. You must boil that water before drinking. I heard that if you drink the water in the gourd after a while, it tastes like crap. Like we have that problem... Well, we MAY. I just heard that the stream is infested in crap. Literally.

Day 2: No water. Jessie questions the amount of water the body actually needs. We get some from the waterhole, all to the tune of Crawdad Hole. We get water and bring it back. Lex points out that we have to boil it first, or else dysentery will set in. imagine puking your guts out. To this end, Lex tries his hand at fireburning, which didnt get any easier from Survivor Borneo or Survivor Australia. I wonder if the Samburu is having a time with this.

Lex breaks open a can of cherries, forming the . The ancient puff-puff-give. The temptation is to take two. But we cant.

Another treemail:

Your survived your first night. Can you prevail?
Or be left in the dust as you blaze a trail.
Oh, the dreaded first challenge, you know you must win,
Or the game may be over before you begin.

We met Jeff and the Samburu at the games area. We found out our worst fears come true. The Samburu have fire. So why the hell are they playing for more? To keep us for getting any, no doubt. Also, immunity is a good enough incentive. We better win this. I dont think I can take another night without water.

I-CHALLENGE: Quest for Fire III.

The tribe must cart a burning flame to three locations, where they must light a talisman that awaits them. The first is across the bridge. The second is on top of a mountain (one tribesman will have to climb). The third is on the beach. First tribe with all their members across the finish line wins matches, immunity, and their cart.

Out of the gate, Samburu falls! Opportunity, I hear ya knocking! Ethan makes it to the first talisman and lights the fire first, but soon after, the energy expenditure gets to us as we have to jug the cart up a hill. But we make it. Clarence begins the climb up the mountain to light the second talisman. He gets there first. Because of a pothole, Ethan flass, but we recover. And Ethan falls again. Geez, what is with this guy? Its another hill we have to climb. And Ethan falls again. A literal dead heat scrambe as the third talisman is lit and Sambur takes the lead. Samburu wins the challenge, fire, immunity, the cart... and Ethan ... falls again. Well get fire tomorrow night, BUT, we lose a tribesman.

Day 3: Tribal Councils tonight. No ones looking forward to it, especially this early in the game. Were going to get water at the hole, while Tom thinks that we should count our food first. Right now, the plan is to help Diane, whos really sick and dehydrated. On our way back, we found something that smelled really bad. We found out that someones been eating our beans! Clarence, you better say something. We know youve been feeding Diane. Bad call. Tom and Clarence erupt into a conflict. Clarence made a call for her. Tom said You made a call for all of us. And a bad one. Lex stresses the need to build trust from square one again, even though Clarence said he wasnt not going to tell us. Diane, on the other hand, said that she didnt ask for the beans. Just great. Today was NOT a good day to be pissed off. One of us has to go.

TRIBAL COUNCIL 1 Boran

Fire represents life. You have fire, you have life. Tonight, seven of us get fire. (Jessies going to boil some water). Diane had the hardest time with the challenge. Clarence admits that he did some things and hes sorry for it. Then he talked about the bean ordeal. Everyones reaction was of anger. Its time for the vote.

Diane CLARENCE: Citing his abilities as a liar.

Ethan DIANE: Citing the challenge and her weakness.

Tom CLARENCE (C.B.): You know why.

Clarence DIANE: Citing HER abilities as a liar.

The votes are locked in and cannot be changed. The result:

Clarence: 2
Diane: 6 (5 revealed)

Eighth vote concealed, but Diane... THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN. Its time for you to go.
