CLINTON
SMITH Cincinnati, OH
Last time on Tuesday, Clinton didn't know a lot
of things. For example, he couldn't reason on
his own power his wedding date, his engagement
date, or the literal meaning of "schizophrenic".
But he charms his way up to $50,000, and a few
interviews later, goes for $100,000 and the key
to the next dimension. Can he make it?
For a guaranteed $100,000:
Clinton doesn't know it off the bat. He goes
for the PAF, calling Ron. Ron runs out of time
without giving an answer, so Clinton pushes the
panic button, bailing with $50,000. Correct
answer: C. So now we move to tonight's Ring of
Fire and the first Fastest Finger question.

Put
these toys in order by when they were first
introduced in the U.S., starting with the
earliest. |
|
A:
Xbox |
B:
Pokemon cards |
|
C:
Cabbage Patch Kids |
D:
Beanie Babies |
Correct order: CDBA. Seven in with the right
answer, and the fastest time, at 3.97 seconds,
goes to Jonathan Criswell!
JONATHAN
CRISWELL Newark, DE
Jonathan's an investment account who has never
won anything and has really quit trying. But he
did wind up in the hot seat. Here's hoping that
his first win is a big one. His wife Michelle is
watching from the stands. Michelle is very proud
to see her husband be proactive... for once.
For $1000:
She dumped Ken to be with Aussie Blaine. Oh,
doll love. Jonathan's right with A and we go for
$2000.
He knows it's D for $2000. Onto $3000.
He gets the three grand from a load of
guacamole. Now let's go for chips. Here's the
$4000 question.
Jonathan had to burn an early lifeline here,
where 96% of the audience was trying to tell him
that an antihistamine is a type of drug widely
used to treat allergies. He goes for it for
$4000 and the right to look at this question for
$5000.
He turns Japanese for the guaranteed $5000.
Now we try to double up.
He thinks for a bit, phoning up his aunt
Barbara. "I'm not sure, how much time we have?"
"None." He 50/50s to Let freedom ring and Free
at last. He takes the latter... and wins
$10,000. Completely out of lifelines, here's the
$20,000.
Jonathan thinks that this is it. He pulls out
without having a second though, becoming the
first player in Millionaire history to bow out
after looking at the seventh question. But if
you don't know, you don't know and you don't
deserve to continue this game, and $10,000 is
more money than he made for only 10 minutes
work. But now it's time to rustle up another
player. So here's another FFF.

Put
these actresses in order by when they first
won a Best Actress Oscar, starting with the
earliest. |
|
A:
Gwyneth Paltrow |
B:
Sally Field |
|
C:
Kathy Bates |
D:
Halle Berry |
Correct order: BCAD. Again, seven in with the
right answer, and of them, the fastest, at 3.73,
is Jessica McCartney.
JESSICA
McCARTNEY Frisco, TX
Jessica is an assistant retail manager in
Frisco, TX, and, at 21, the youngest player so
far. She is married to not only her husband, but
her legal guardian. And as far as I know,
they're the same person. "He has to be home by
curfew." Justin, said husband, is 20, and
therefore, by Texas law, she is his legal
guardian. Well that makes sense. Right now, down
to business.
For $1000:
Jessica shakes her way to $1000, and we shake
out the $2000 question.
The cows are sacred in India, so they eat
sheep instead. That's good for $2000, and we
move to $3000.
I would've said confidence, but only because
my Americana professor, Dr. Kasson, said so. And
I would've won $3000. Now for $4000.
Right is right for $4000. Here's the $5000
milestone.
Jessica makes B her final answer for $5000.
Here's the $10,000 question.
Would be Lionel Richie for $10,000. Now for
$20,000.
Jessica is stalled. She asks the audience,
and 61 percent go with flea, with 29 at moth.
She goes with the audience. And 61 percent of
the audience... is wrong. The 29 percent is
right with D, so Jessica leaves with $5000. So
we go for another player in the next FFF.

Put
these world leaders in order by the year of
their birth, starting with the most recent. |
|
A:
Nelson Mandela |
B:
Golda Meir |
|
C:
Tony Blair |
D:
Vladimir Lenin |
Correct order: CABD. Only three in right, and
the fastest, at 4.69, is Michael Koehn!
MICHAEL
KOEHN Eau Claire, WI
Michael's an attorney with a reputation of being
a winner. He keeps telling people that it's just
random, but with trips to lottery shows, a free
suit, cash, prizes, tickets, and now a stint in
the hot seat, there might be something to it.
But he'll need more than luck if he's to make it
to the next dimension.
For $1000:
He would've said "tax refund", but he goes
for the right answer of A for $1000. Now for
$2000.
Michael goes for D for $2000. Onto $3000.
He goes with the obvious Pac-Man to gobble up
$3000. For $4000...
He goes with B to get $4000 and a chance at a
guaranteed $5000.
He goes to the audience, and damn near all of
them, 84 percent, goes to Tyra Banks for $5000.
Now for the doubler free-ball for $10,000. But
first, since we're pressed for time and we don't
really know that they will be used today, we
reveal the identities of the 3 Wise Men. They
are:
Dr. Kevin Olmsted - The richest winner in the
history of American game shows
Dr. Curly Bonds - Professor of psychiatry at
UCLA's School of Medicine
Lisa Schwarzbaum - film critic for
"Entertainment Weekly"
An economics student, Michael remembers that
the theory was that if you give tax cuts to the
top, it trickles down. So far, that has yet to
be the case, but that gets him the $10,000. Onto
$20,000.
Hard question, so he tries to reason at 5280
feet, going for B. He's got the $20,000! Going
for three
Before he goes any further, he calls up Jim.
He's 95 percent sure of Patrick O'Brian,
Michael's first inkling. And he's for it for
$30,000! Trying for $50,000 now...
He remembers seeing camera shots of Tom Brady
for $50,000! Now to the big one for $100,000.
Michael uses the 50:50 to decide between bee
stings or poison ivy. He thinks it's poison ivy
and goes for it.... and he enters the next
dimension with the two new lifelines! Now he has
Kevin, Curly, and Lisa to ask for help should he
need them. Going for $500,000...
He goes for the Wise Men first, who think
that it's C (thanks to Kevin's quick brain).
Michael saved the Double Dip and trusted the
Wise Men's suggestion, but he should've went for
Kevin's instinct about the Earth's age which is
indeed 4 billion years, where two amino acids
developed at that time period. Michael leaves
with $100,000, and a new player enters the hot
seat on Friday, the final show of Super
Millionaire. |
