1 The application for AutoLog GSM-4 - Introduction

GSM technology can be used effectively with AutoLog GSM-4. You can open doors and

control alarms and temperature with GSM technology, which works all most everywhere

in the world.

1.1 Main features

• Burglar alarms

• Door control / Access control

• Temperature control

1.2 Door control / Access control

The doors and gates can be opened free of charge with AutoLog GSM-4 and controlling

is always safe - the device accepts controls only from recognized telephone numbers.

You can set max. 48 different telephone numbers in the memory of AutoLog GSM-4 in

this application. The numbers can be either GSM numbers or regular numbers from

which controlling is allowed. Two doors, gates or any other electromechanical devices

can be connected to AutoLog GSM-4. The doors can be opened also with the defined

text messages.

Function examples:

You call to the regular number of AutoLog GSM-4. When the device receives the call, it

recognizes the number and compares it to the telephone number list of AutoLog GSM-4

and controls relay output 0 on for 30 seconds. Now you have 30 seconds to go through

the door 0.

You call to the data number of AutoLog GSM-4. When the device receives the call, it

recognizes the number and compares it to the telephone number list of AutoLog GSM-4

and controls relay output 1 on for 30 seconds. Now you have 30 seconds to go through

the door 1.

1.3 Burglar alarms

There are 4 separate alarm inputs in AutoLog GSM-4. The alarm inputs can be

connected to detectors, door magnet or other sensors with closed circuit.

Alarm control can be switched on by sending the defined text message ( $ON* ) to

AutoLog GSM-4.

Alarm control can be switched off by sending the defined text message ( $OFF* ) to

AutoLog GSM-4.

If alarm occurs then AutoLog GSM-4 sends the alarm text message to telephone number

0 ( first telephone number in the memory of the device ).

The status of the device can be checked anytime, anywhere where GSM technology is in

use.

2 Installation

2.1 SIM card

At first open the plastic IP65 enclosure ( four screws / AutoLog GSM-4 Unit ). SIM card

is installed on GSM module ( check the installation picture 2.7 ). Ensure before installing

that default PIN code is 0000, because AutoLog GSM-4 supposes that PIN code is 0000.

You can do that checking with your mobile phone.

SIM card properties have to include calling and text message features. The calling

features have to include also the data and the fax telephone numbers in addition to the

regular telephone number. So you have three telephone numbers to the device ( three

free of charge controls ). If there are not the data and fax telephone numbers, you can

do the same controls also with the defined text messages.

2.2 Connections to electromechanical locks

There are two places for the electromechanical locks. The locks are connected to the

relay outputs of AutoLog GSM-4. Connect your door0/lock0 to the relay output0.

Connect your door1/lock1 to the relay output1. The locks, which will be connected, have

to be able to use 12 VDC, because the locks get power from AutoLog GSM-4 and it uses

12 VDC( check the installation picture 2.7 ).

2.3 Connections to alarm inputs

There are four separate alarm inputs in AutoLog GSM-4. Sensors, detectors or door

magnets have to also use 12 VDC ( check the installation picture 2.7 ).

2.4 Temperature sensor

Temperature sensor has to be Pt100 sensor ( four separate wires ) .

2.5 Power

Power input has to be 12 - 15 VDC. Note! Check how many amperes are needed for

the electromechanical locks and sensors - power input has to be at least 20 W, e.g.

Mascot 9829 ( 12 VDC / 19,5 W )

2.6 Battery

During general power failure the device can work a couple of hours with the battery 12 V.
