#1: We discussed places in the US that we would like to take our scout friends
from England to see. Places included: St. Augustine, Fl. (oldest city in the US
and a place we're familiar with), Stone Mountain, Ga., Washington, D.C. (of
course, our capital), Cherokee, N.C. (to see some native American Indians and
how they live), and Kennedy Space Center. In order to see these places we
thought we'd start out at Kennedy Space Center go up to St. Augustine, then
travel to Stone Mountain, up to Cherokee, N.C. and then on to the capital.

#3: In school we had a project that we had to trace our family's roots and make
a poster of our family tree.

#7: We picked England as we were planning our trip there to attend Sherwood '98
an International camp. We contacted a travel agent who helped us get cheap
rates on our airline tickets. We corresponded via emails with the Scoutmaster
of the troop hosting us, as well as a few contacts they gave us there in
England. We also, made contact through our leader with a Guider from Africa
that we met and went to the Changing of the Guards with.

#2: While in England we planned a dining experience where we ate Pitas (unlike
ones in America) and Donner Kabobs. We introduced the scouts to some of our
ways of eating. We compared differences and sameness in the cuisine from both
countries.

#1: At a Cadette sleepover sponsored through our council, we met and talked
with Senior scouts who have gone on Wider Ops. We learned about the process to
apply and plan for a Wider Op as well as what they did to prepare to go.

like to share what you did.
