Zeus was chained in the front yard on a short chain for most of his life. He was continually harrassed. He was fostered and rehabilitated in Hamilton and then placed with a loving family. Just a few months after his placement lumps were found on his legs which sadly were cancerous and subsequent test showed it had spread to other parts of his body. We feel pleased to know that Zeus's last months were filled with love and that he did know the warmth and gentleness of a human hand.
Tara - Another dog who spent her short life on a chain, this time tied to the side of the garage. She now lives with Bill & Sally and is very happy.
SIMBA
. His rehabilitation was slowed down due to the neutering site becoming grossly infected, probably due to his poor overall condition. After being in Angela's care for nearly 8 weeks a home was found for him with Francesca and John. This couple have worked amazing things with Simba. Under their devoted care and unconditional love Simba is no longer the frightened, nervous dog that he used to be. He no longer hides his food so no-one else can have it, he is comfortable with people though he still dislikes cats, instead he is loving, playful and affectionate. Thank you Francesca and John for giving Simba the chance he needed to prove what a wonderful dog he truly is

John & Simba
When I first met Simba he was in the pound, grossly underweight, with injuries to his rear legs consistent with rope burns. The lack of muscle in his back legs made walking very awkward. He was placed in foster care with Angela, a vet nurse, who patiently worked on Simba's fear of people, cars, being left alone, and his TERROR of cats.
