Michael Lucich in Palo Alto on University (phone 326-8021).  If

you ask for Shayda, the cut is $35 (normally $40 but there's a $5

student discount). It is not a super-fancy place, but I am really happy with

the cut

so far, and I have been getting my hair cut in NYC with the same guy for

4+ years, so I was a little paranoid!

*********************************************************

The following "beauty"

recommendations came from a second-year GSB'er.

haircut:  Juut Salon on University Ave in Palo Alto. I go to Gloria

highlights:  Cezanne salon in Los Altos. I go to CJ.

nails/waxing:  LaBelle is really nice but expensive.  there is one in

Stanford Shopping Center and one at T&C.  There is a decent nail place

on Hamilton Ave. in downtown Palo Alto that's pretty cheap.

************************************************************

my friend recommended this place called diPietro Todd Salon which

has locations in sf, mill valley and palto (2307 birch street.

328-4545.  she went to megan.

************************************************************

I got my hair highlighted at Juut on University and they did a

nice job and were reasonably price ($55 for a partial highlight).  I'm

not sure what they charge for hair cut, but I do know you need to make

an appointment a few weeks out.  Also, I think the price charged may

vary depending on who does the cut - I've heard the "popular" stylists

can be quite expensive.

*************************************************************

Juut on University (rec'd by someone in Bizpartners) is nice but

rather expensive.  Still, an apprentice there is only $25-$30.  They are

supposed to be in training but good.

****************************************************************

Hair International, a big mall-type salon, in the Stanford shopping mall.

She specified to go to the "technical director" who was recommended by a

2nd-year Bizpartner.

Prices range there from $25-$50.

***************************************************************

Hair International

in the Stanford Shopping Center is really good and very reasonable. they

have student rates. tel 324-2007 i've only been there twice...

actually i've only gotten my hair cut, no perm or coloring or anything

major, but i still like it.

my stylist's name is Diana and she's reallyreally good.

***************************************************************

I use this el cheapo place in the Stanford Mall called The Haircut.

Another GSBer went there a few weeks back and seemed happy

with the results. She used Grace, who has cut my hair for many years.

for $11 it's a pretty good deal.

***************************************************************

I go to Hair International at the Stanford Mall.  My stylist for the

past two years has been Ashley, and I think she's great - her student

price is around $40 or so.

****************************************************************

I go to the Hairshaper's Club in the Town and Country

shopping center on the corner of Embarcadero/Galvez and El Camino.  Mai

cuts my hair and I've been quite happy with her.  For student's it's

about $22... well within reason!

************************************************************

Lori Romero is great, and she is at Textures in Menlo Park, (650)

323-6171.  I have no idea what her rates are these days, but I am

guessing around $50.

Klara Turner, at the end of Alma in Menlo Park, right by the train

station.  I use Elana.

Subject: gsb-unofficial: Hair Cut?

Does anyone know of a good place to get a hair cut around here?  I am

looking for something nice, but reasonably priced.  There are something like

80 places to get your hair cut in Palo Alto.  (I have seen salon's charging

over $100 for a hair cut!  Good grief!)

Thanks for the info...
