HOW TO PLAY:
One contestant faced a "mob" of 100 people in an attempt to win $1,000,000! The player saw a question with 3 possible answers. The player may then select an answer or use one of three "helps":

Poll the Mob: The player then selected an answer and was then shown how many "mob" members gave that answer.
Ask the Mob: Two mob members were selected at random, one with the right answer and one with a wrong answer, thus knocking out the other wrong answer. Each of those two members explained why they selected their answer.
Trust the Mob: The player must stick with the mob's most popular answer.

If the contestant answered correctly, the player earned money for each mobster who answered incorrectly. Each mobster who answers incorrectly is out of the game. The payoffs for each eliminated mobster increased as follows:
Questions 1-3: $1,000
?s 4 & 5: $2,000
? 6: $3,000
? 7: $4,000
? 8: $5,000
? 9: $6,000
? 10: $7,000
? 11: $8,000
? 12: $9,000
Each question thereafter: $10,000

After the first three questions, the player may stop and keep his/her winnings up to that point. If (s)he continued, (s)he must play two more questions before deciding "the money or the mob". From then on, the player may wave the white flag after any question.

In '08, the prize money increased for every 10 mobsters eliminated. The player earned $1,000 for knocking out 10, $5,000 for 20, $10,000 for 30, $25,000 for 40, $50,000 for 50, $75,000 for 60, $100,000 for 70, $250,000 for 80, and $500,000 if no more than 10 mobsters are left standing. The player is given the "money or the mob" option for each increase in prize money.

Under both formats, if at any time the contestant gives a wrong answer, his/her winnings will be split amongst any remaining mob members who answered that particular question correctly.
Any contestant who manages to knock out the entire mob walks out of NBC Studios
$1,000,000 RICHER!!! On 1/4/06, Jason Luna became the first contestant to accomplish that feat! Not long afterward, Texas beauty queen Cassandra "Miss 1 vs. 100" Whitehead, 21, came close winning $500k.
