Here are some pics and stats for my LAN computer. It may not be super fast or brain numbing for looks but it does the job and does have the novelty of being portable. Not quite a laptop but still very upgradable (I’ve upgraded the MB, CPU, Memory, DVD ROM, Video card, and Hard drive since the initial build).
This was the case at PDXLAN 8. Since then the blue fan has become external, the black fan and casing has been removed to allow a Jetfan to fit inside over the CPU and a NVIDIA 7800 GT (AGP) video card has been installed.
Here are some pics of my initial build before I had everything screwed down. It is also with all my old hardware as I noted above. Remarkably, the hardware may have changed but the locations have not. I’m still having nightmares if I decide to make this thing SLI.
The floppy drive seen in this pic was removed before final boltdown / construction. I decided to make it all CD / USB load. Luckly I have no RAID’ed HDD’s so I have no need for FD’s.
Here I havn’t cut the holes for the fans yet. But they are coming.
