Word Challenge 1
To believe in the rambling of the dream
I must have lost my mind.
The heather shone like silvered seas
With it the flocks kept time.
True the cause was strange and new
Thus the proof was faith.
None could yet relay the truth
And we were swept away.
Word Challenge 2
With his youthful, down covered face he wove his spell
All smiles and innocence he fained indifference to his art
To his renewed intentions I was uniquely vulnerable
Into his arms I fell like rain from the Islands storms
All soft and light he seemed to steal my fears from me
One day he left again and took the spring from me
How the memory comes back to crash against the rocks
Again I trusted his light; again I fell to ruined walls
Oh, how he made me forget

Word Challenge 3
The cattails wave with the errant breeze as the droplets of water clinging to my dangling toes shine crystalline in the summer sun.  I sit by the pond of my father staring out across the water in silence.  As I sit I begin to dream.  Fairy tales dance through my mind speaking of hidden worlds.  The elves play on their instruments drumming the very earth to song as the fauns gambol across meadows of daisies and orchids.  Brownies make parodies of the fauns which are greeted by great peals of laughter from the gnomes. To see them makes me smile but, alas, it ends too soon as I hear a splash among the reeds grounding me once more.  No longer am I among the fairy folk but I am alone by a pond at my father's country home.  Oh, but it was fun while it lasted.  Maybe I will dream again.

Word Challenge 4
For the glory of her tribe she fought the war
When the war was over they needed her no more
They kicked her out, too dangerous was she
Traveling close to death she found a distant kingdom
The king afar her favor won, with this her heart was lost
His favor he spread 'round to the flowers of his domain
No lone flower did he stay with and she could not let this stand
Within the cover of darkness she quickly made her move
In the dungeon she spends her last days regretting nothing
For love cannot be stayed and vengeance will not be denied

Word Challenge 5
Jeff was a sly rake
I thought he was a golden boy
Every glance conveyed heat
My sanity was in the balance
His heart was made of stone
He left Astoria in May
Among rumor and spite
To hazard a guess I'd say he died
Out on the road to Cali
Another victim to longing
