A few model T Fords made it into the movies this month!
A movie being made
in Montevideo, Minnesota, this October 2004
spanning prior to 1920, then 1968,
finally ending in 2004.
The movie, a Norwegian love story being brought to the
silver screen
by Beautiful Motion Pictures of Minneapolis, is entitled "Sweet Land"
and is based on a short story "A
Gravestone Made Of Wheat"
by a Minnesota author Will
Weaver.
The screenplay is written and directed by Ali Selim of Minneapolis.
There are many well-known actors and actresses in the film:
Inge Altenberg
(the mail-order bride) played by Elizabeth
Reaser,
Tom Guinee who plays
Olaf Torvik,
the neighbor Alvin Fransen played by Alan
Cumming,
his wife Brownie Fransen played by Alex
Kingston,
also Ned Beatty, John
Heard, Gil Bellows and a cast
of
many extras including yours truly Gary
and Jean Russeth.
The film, to be released some time in 2006, will include
old clothing,
old buildings, and of course old cars and buggies.
Some of
the "T's" used to make the movie
include a 1915 driven by Fransen,
owned by Gary O. Russeth,
a 1911 driven by Harmo (Ned Beatty), owned by Howard
Kittelson, and many more.
Jean and I met scores of wonderful people from
all over the world
and got to see how a movie is made in four short weeks.
