To promote an open and sincere dialogue about homosexuality within the Catholic Church.

To eradicate prejudices about homosexuality and encourage the acknowledgement of rights for Christian homosexuals.

To support those who live with anguish or guilt concerning their sexual orientation by reconciling their identity with their spiritual dimension.

There are enough signs which suggest a review of certain interpretations of Biblical texts and of philosophical opinions that have developed into a longstanding homophobia on the side of the Catholic Church, with no relationship to the message of Christ.

Theology has demonstrated that various philosophical beliefs, which the Catholic Church imposed in the past are not in agreement with the Christian message.

They have interpreted the Biblical documents in a biased way to support their own interests. Many modern moralists are able to demonstrate it.

Modern science, including the World Health Organisation, does not regard homosexuality as a disease or deviation.

History has shown that the Church has been reluctant to acknowledge its errors. In many cases it has had to apologise several centuries later.

This issue should be considered without previous prejudices or conditioning and without condemnation or old-fashioned paternalism. The Church should take into account that Christ never condemned homosexuals.

Therefore, Cohesin intends to be a meeting forum for dialogue between homosexuals and heterosexuals who share the same faith.

There are already many laymen and other people within the Church who share our point of view, but there is still a lot to be done until the Church acknowledges this reality.
