The area is very laid back, and suitable for relaxation or even as a retreat. However, there is still plenty to do!

Walking

The property is lilterally one hundred yards from the edge of the Central Balkan National Park. There are marked tourist hiking routes from the village to a couple of huts on the ridge of the Balkan mountains (About 4-5 hours walking each way), which make for spectacular scenery. If it is a more leisurely view of the mountains you are wanting, a cable car can take you to the top from Sopot.

Paragliding

Paragliding: Sopot has become a top destination for hang-gliding and paragliding, hosting the world championships in 2005. It has unique climatic conditions which make soaring relatively easy. It is very cheap to undertake courses in paragliding and hang-gliding compared to the UK. For more information, click here

Day trips

The property is centrally located within Bulgaria, so driving to the capital Sofia, Plovdiv, the southern ski resorts, the ancient capital Veliko Tarnovo, and local spa resorts (a bulgarian passion) etc. are all feasible day trips..

Skiing

The resort of Beklemeto is about 20 minutes away by car. We should point out that this resort is not well developed for accomplished downhill skiers, and is more suitable for beginners. It does however have excellent facilities for cross country skiing, Biathlon, and ski-orieneering for the braver among you! The larger southern ski resorts are accessible as a day-trip
