| The pain of Mental Illness | |||||||||||||||||

| I would not wish Psychosis on my worst enemy. The pain within the mind of the mentaly ill rivals any punishment Psychosis feels somewhere in between the most brutal sadness, the most exposing embarassment, the most anoying confusion, and the rawest anger. My psychosis was a mental battle against delusions, paranoia, hallucinations, and utter despair. I have a number of friends who have mental illness, all of them are being treated with medication, the only way this sort of ailment can be kept in check. They have all had similar but also fairly different experiences but all agree that their psychotic episodes where by far the worst points in their lives. There is a great stigma against the mentaly ill. People laugh at them, or avoid them. It is true that the mentaly healthy will never truly understand the ill, but that doesn't mean that those without this kind of illness can't be sympathetic. So the next time you come across someone with mental illness, remember that they are human too, a treat them as such. |
