| Role of Women in War Role of Women in the War The cause for the need of women in the war was because every man that could fight and was old enough to fight, or hold a gun, was sent out to the fronts to fight in the war. So therefore, women had to take over the role of the man in the average lifestyle. This included being involved in economics, politics and having daily jobs outside of the house. Women were able to have jobs such as working in factories to produce weapons for the men to fight with or they worked in other jobs that are not normally jobs for women. But the women were able to keep national economy going and kept life as normal as possible. Women also worked as nurses on the fronts to soldiers who were injured. The conditions were horrible and the women had to work relentlessly even though there were human remains surrounding them everywhere. With their help, soldiers were able to at least be treated for injuries that were treatable. The effects of the big role of women in the war was that women were now out of their houses and had a taste of power and how it was to work outside the house. They developed a sense of confidence and pride. Confidence in themselves that they were capable of doing jobs that men could do and pride in themselves and in their country since they were now able to actually contribute in a large way to it. |
