why is your show called grrrl action plus?

picture, if you will, driving in the cold dark night (around 3 am) with the radio on.  it's tuned to some college radio station and you're groovin' to the sounds of the pixies or maybe brainiac.  the music ends and a voice - no, several voices - emerge from the fm ether.  "yeah, you just heard the pixies with debaser.  it's almost three here and i've got my friends joe and al in the studio with me.  hey, we're pretty lonely in here and al doesn't have a girlfriend.  so if there are any cute chicks out there, give us a call.  al really wants to meet you.  we could really use some girl action here in the studio."  gee, thanks for the offer there, mr. sensitive.  i sure don't understand why no one's giving you a call.  you just ruined a perfectly good radio show with some absolutely un-enlightened talk.  cute, huh?
this is exactly the situation i encountered one night driving in to campus to do my first overnight shift radio show.  as i needed a title for my show, i thought: "what better name for my own show: grrrl action plus.  a pun on the kind of talk you often hear over the college airwaves past midnight."  so yes, the show title is a type of joke.  i do play a lot of music by female artists on the show (and just because you don't hear a woman singing doesn't mean there isn't a girl in the band), but it isn't exclusively dedicated to women in music.
