| The planet Krondor is very near to Armaggedon but is not in the same sector. This why it was an obvious chocie for rampaging orks to attack. Even on the retreat to their homeworlds orks still leave a massive trail of destruction. The most dangerous of these times is when a massive planned war (like the 3rd war for Armaggedon) is defeated and countless thousands of tribes are retreating to thier home worlds. Often on such long exoduses the orks get bored and decide to attack and somtimes destroy a inhabited planet. This is one of those times. Orks from the Black Rock Tribe on the retreat to thier home sector (sector: Benson in the eastern fringe) were traveling in Krondor's direction and decided to attack the world. the orks landed in the desert outside of the largest hive on the planet, the capital rather uninventivly named Krondor. In the first parts of the attack (not part of the campaign) orks proppeled massive rockets at the mile thick hive walls. Eventually after hours of such bombardment and outside fighting the orks broke through. Fortunatly a hive Miltia was organised and stopped the orks. Many orks died in this battle but nothing compared to how many Miltia men died. The orks reteated but soon rallied and were upon the hive again. The Planet Krondor is an Imperial World it is in essecnce a massive mine and weapons plant. It has three main hives and several mining outposts. the hives are Krondor (The capital and largest one), Betrega (the most populated per capita and the most violent, it is in a constant state of disarray), and Tappin (the smallest one were 88% of the planets food is grown). The planet is rather small but still very important as it produces 63% of the sectors weapon, it's loss would deal a massive blow to the sector. It would open up the entire sector to Ork invasions or even more sinister things. Possibly much scarier the orks might enslave the local populace to start churning out thier own weapons, warmachines and worst of all... Ships. Geology Like all industrial worlds this planet has been churning out weapons and mining for such a long time that the entire planet is ash and slag. The outside areas are so polluted that even the hydropinc farms can't grow anything. Terrible storms that can rip an armoured man to bone, acidic storms that last for days dissolving people and armour alike to nothing. |
