GRAND FORKS, ND – University of North Dakota women’s basketball coach Gene Roebuck announced on Wednesday that former UND women’s basketball letterwinner Megan Pick has been hired as an assistant coach.
Pick replaces Shannon Baugh, who recently took an assistant coaching job at Bradley. Pick joins Travis Brewster, who is in his second season, on Roebuck’s staff.
Pick played for the Fighting Sioux for three seasons (’00, ’01, ’02). During her career, she played in 66 games, starting two, and averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 assists per game.
Last year Pick student taught in Estherville, Iowa, and was the assistant basketball and assistant softball coach at Iowa Lakes Community College.
“I’m excited to be a part of Fighting Sioux women’s basketball again,” Pick said on Wednesday. “It was a privilege to be here as a player, and I feel the same way about joining the coaching staff.”
“It’s good to have Megan back in the Sioux family again,” Roebuck said. “She’ll be a great asset to our coaching staff. She knows the system and now has a coach’s perspective on the game after spending one year at Iowa Lakes.
“It is nice to have someone who knows the pride this program has and is anxious to get to work making sure the success continues in the coming years.”
