GRAND FORKS, ND � University of North Dakota women�s basketball coach Gene Roebuck announced on Monday that assistant coach Shannon Baugh has resigned in order to take an assistant coaching position at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. Baugh will continue working at UND through July 1.
At Bradley, Baugh will be the third assisant. Her primary duties will be the handling of summer camps, recruiting and team travel. Baugh�s on-court duties will be working with both the guards and post players.
�I�m excited about the opportunity to move on to Bradley,� Baugh said. �I think it will be another good stepping stone to where I ultimately want to get.
�My time at UND has been good and rewarding. I don�t have any regrets about my decision to come here.�
�I�m happy for Shannon,� Roebuck said. �This will be a good move for her, a step up in the coaching ranks. It gives her a chance to be closer to her family and continue on her career path.
�She�s done a good job for us, and she has gained the necessary experience to make this move.�
Bradley went 13-15 last year and finished sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 9-9 record. The Braves are coached by Paula Buscher, who will be entering her fourth season at Bradley. Buscher spent three years as a head coach in the North Central Conference, coaching at MSU, Mankato in 1997-98 before moving to Nebraska-Omaha, where she coached in 1998-99 and 1999-00.
