Within
Dreams come back to me,
Every now and then.
I look up the sky,
Clear blueness reflects.
But when I look on the other side,
Dark clouds are looming.
And then suddenly the wind grows stronger,
And the water is not so calm anymore.
The waves are moving faster,
And my presence grows cold.
That once beautiful crimson hour night,
Hides behind blackness.
The lights from across the sea,
All of a sudden flickers on.
It illuminates me,
Showing me the truth,
So distinctively uncovered,
Waking me up from the trance.
But then you came along,
Pushed me down,
Towards the violent waves.
I reach out my arms,
Trying to grab onto the edge,
But I can not hold on.
So I slip and tumble down,
Crashing into the sea of emotions,
Subconsciously reminiscing,
About how we used to be.
But was that all a dream?
Did I wake up to find you not real?
Everything around me starts spinning,
And I keep on fallin',
Falling down the bottomless pit of the past.
Drifting in the frozen time,
Unable to find myself out,
I feel numb from the cold of my heart.
I search within myself,
To find the person who I used to be,
Asleep inside me.
I scream for her to wake up,
And then a bright light blinds me,
Transporting me away.
As I open my eyes,
You are reflected in a shimmering illusion.
Staring and smiling at me,
You disappear in the hour of darkness.
My heart gradually feels lighter,
And I once again can hear the clock ticking.
The night is extinguished,
By the light of the morning.
It melts away in my gaze.
The sky is coming back to life,
Synchronized with my soul,
I am ready to move on.
