ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
During my two years in New Mexico, I was assigned to an Army National Guard unit (B-btry 1/200 Air Defense Artillery) in Carlsbad, NM while I studied at New Mexico Military Institute.  As an ROTC cadet, you are given the option of participating in the Guard to gain some hands on experience while you are in college.  If you pay attention to those who train you, you will have gained some knowledge of 'how it works' in the actual military environment...not to mention an edge over your peers who will commission as 2nd Lieutenants alongside yourself.
A picture of the Avenger system that is part of the ADA arsenal of the unit I was serving with during my time at NMMI.  Basically it's a Hummer on steroids.  It carries a payload of 8 Stinger missiles and a .50 calibre machine gun.  Any aircraft within its firing range is toast.

M1A2 Abrams...the Texas National Guard is full of the A1s and A2s.  I am currently assigned to Co A, 5 Bn, 112th Armor in Texas that includes the M1 Abrams. It's low profile, speed, and depleted uranium armor makes it a deadly opponent and a difficult target to destroy.  If you're lucky enough to get that close.  Just ask the Iraqi Army!
This is my hope for the future:  Piloting the RAH-66 Comanche Stealth helicopter.  It's the Army's newest aircraft and an awesome addition to the arsenal.
