GENERAL STANDING SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR ALL RANGES
1. Consumption of alcoholic beverages BEFORE or DURING shooting is ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED!
2. No member or guest shall use any Club ranges if he is under the influence of alcohol.
3. Fully automatic weapons or semiautomatic weapons fitted with trigger ratchets or other add-on devices that simulate automatic fire are PROHIBITED on all Club ranges.
4. Club members shall be responsible for firearms safety actions of their guests at all times during informal shooting activities. Members shall be present on the range at all times to directly supervise shooting activities of their guests. All guests shall observe a CEASE FIRE when their host member leaves the range for any reason.
5. Ear and eye protection is MANDATORY on all Club ranges.
6. All shooting activities must be conducted in a safe manner and cause no damage to Club property.
7. Club property damage of any nature observed or occurring incident to use of a range facility by a group activity or during informal shooting shall be immediately reported by the responsible or observing member to the appropriate Range Committee Chairman or any member of the Board of Directors.
8. All members of the Groton Sportsmen's Club, in the interest of good sportsmanship, shall have the responsibility to set an example for the general public, on or off Club ranges, in both the practice and demonstration of proper firearms safety at all times.
9. Substantiated reports of property damage or willful disregard for firearms safety shall be considered the same as noncompliance with Range Safety Regulations. Such actions may also be cause for disciplinary action, which may include suspension of Club range privileges and other penalties up to and including loss of Club membership
10. Exceptions to range rules are allowed only when consistent with the requirements of a supervised, authorized event.
