Donovan�s Mercenary Guard
Armaments: AK-47, Grenades
Found in: Levels 1 and 2
They have a pretty good attack range, but they are pretty slow to react and fire. If you can sneak up on them, you can usually drop them before they fire a shot. Some of them will lob grenades at you, but they telegraph this pretty badly. If you see one of them arc their arms back, close the distance to them while firing and the grenades will sail harmlessly over your head.
Hammer Shocktrooper
Armaments: HK MP-5 Sub Machine Gun, Remington 870 Shotgun, and later on Medium Machine Guns and Grenades
Found in: Levels 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11, and 12
While their arms may vary, your basic Hammer trooper can inflict heavy damage at short range. However, due to their limited attack range, they are very vulnerable to sniper attacks. Try to sneak up on them using the radar and get a bead on them. If you have a weapon with a long range, like the Heavy Machine Gun, you can also attack them from outside of their effective killing radius. Around level 5 they will start chucking grenades at you, but these are easy to avoid.
Hammer Officer
Armaments: Colt .45 Caliber Revolver
Found in: Levels 2, 4, 5, 6, and 9
These high ranking officials have keycards that you are going to have to kill them for. They are slow shots, so you can easily strafe around their fire while returning some of your own, but they have much higher endurance than your average Hammer solider.
Hammer SEAL
Armaments: Medium Machine Gun
Found in: Levels 3 and 4
Hammer Special Forces have a longer attack range and better armor than their rank and file brethren. Equip your best weapon and strafe around their shots while returning fire.
Hammer Mini-Gunner
Armaments: Fixed Heavy Machine Gun
Found in: Level 3
These happy buggers can tear JC a new one if you get too her close before dispatching them. Luckily they cannot move and have a very short range. Enter view mode and take them out with a long range weapon.
Automated Sentry Gun
Armaments: .70 Caliber Chaingun, Motion Sensor Detectors
Found in: Level 4
Like the mini-gunners, these suckers will rip you to pieces if you get too close too them. Take some cover behind something and throw some C4 next to the turret. Use the first person view for this, it�s much easier! Then zoom in with Sydney�s sniper rifle and shoot the C4.
British Museum Guard
Armaments: 9mm Pistol
Found in: Level 7
You aren�t allowed to kill these innocent civies. Your only choice is to either hit them in the head with Sydney�s Tranquilizer Gun or sneak past them. Find a spot where they cannot see you and observe their patterns to line up a bead. If they spot you, the whole level will go on alert and there is a very good chance you will have to fail the mission; it�s hard to take them out when they know you are coming.
Assassin X
Armaments: Shiriken
Found in: Level 8
X is easy to beat. Just take cover behind a display case and enter sniper mode and start shooting. When he teleports with his green smoke crap watch your radar to see where he is headed next. He�s a lousy shot and there are plenty of ammo and health pick-ups scattered around.
Major Maxim
Armaments: .70 Caliber Chaingun
Found in: Level 10
Before you turn off the power you can see the different looking wall texture where he is going to bust through like Kool-Aid man. Put like 10 pipe bombs around this. When the battle starts, sprint behind that barrel at the entrance of the room and duck behind it. Now trigger the pipe bombs. When Maximum loses a lot of health, he stops to regenerate. You have to shoot him in those tanks on his back until they both explode and then deplete his health meter. He is vulnerable when he stops to regenerate and if you hide long enough he will start walking back and forth and you can get in cheap shots at his tanks. Stay a good way away from him, you can�t take on the big guy head to head and there�s a good sized explosion when his tanks explode.
Uber Solider
Armaments: energy blasts
Found in: Level 12
Shoot out all 3 devices feeding him energy, the shotgun works well for this. Run around some to make you a hard target for his energy balls. Don�t walk into the beams though, or it's almost instant death. When all 3 devices are out you have a few seconds to pump him full of gat. Use something with a high rate of fire, like the SMG to do the most damage. After a while he will put his shield back up. Rinse, lather, and repeat.
Natalia
Armaments: knives, lots of knives
Found in: Level 12
Ah she ain�t too hard. Just keep strafing left to right after you chase her to that little corridor and take shots at her whenever you can. She won't stay around to fight if you keep chasing and shooting at her. She is a lousy shot too. She will reappear after you ride the elevator up. However you can fool the AI if you stand perfectly still and enter sniper mode. You can blast away and Natalia will just stand there.
Strafing is verrrrrry effective in this game. You should never be standing still after an enemy spots you, keep strafing and shooting while maintaining a lock-on and you should come out on top.
The submachine gun is a great weapon, but switch to something with a longer range when enemies are far away. Otherwise, you won�t be able to touch them while they can snipe at you all day long with AKs.
Use the Nightvision Goggles to see the laser trip wires in the first level. You have to shoot the explosives attach� box close to the 3rd batch of biological weapons to destroy the lasers surrounding the box before you can plant your demos. Another good trick is to shoot out fuse boxes whenever you can and then put on the goggles. Enemies can�t see you, but you can see them.
Go around the right side of the pylon right when JC starts the Rigged to Blow level to shoot the Hammer troop holding the rig worker hostage. If you go around the left side, the hostage will be executed before you can save him.
To find Abbey some warm clothes in the Frozen Assets level, you need the locker room cardkey, take a right turn after the level starts and head south. The cardkey is in the room at the top of the ladder in a glass case. To reach the locker room, go back to the start and go north and then hang a right and you�ll see the locked door. Turn on heaters along the way to unstick doors and keep Abbey from freezing to death.
Proceed very slowly in the museum level, there is only one health pick-up (hidden in the women�s bathroom near the museum entrance) besides the stim-pack Sydney starts out with. Use the knockout gas sprayer whenever you find a large vent. Try to slice pie around corners to line up a headshot on guards without them seeing you.
To open the big temple door in level 11, climb up on the second level in that big open hallway. If you use Sydney�s sniperscope, you can see there are some Hammer troops held up in holes in the roof on the opposite side of the room. The third hole also has a control panel you must shoot to open the door.
