Patriotic Knitted Dress for Kelly

Difficulty Level: Intermediate requires knowledge of knitting in the round. & chain st crochet
Materials Needed:
small amounts of red, white and blue fingering wt. yarn, 00, 0 size knitting needles, tapestry needle #7 crochet hook
Using 00 needles and red yarn cast on 28 sts. work in stockinette st for 2 rows
switching to 0 needles, divide sts onto 3 needles as follows, (9, 10, 9) sts, knit around joining.
Round 4, K
Round 5 K 6, bind off 5 sts, k 6, bind off 5 sts, k rem. sts.
Round 6 continue knitting around till piece measures ¾"
Begin skirt: *Knit into the front and back of next st,, K 1,* rep * * for one round
Continue working in rounds till piece measure 1½", break off red,, join white and work 2 rounds in white, break off white join blue and work 3 rounds in blue, Bind off in blue.
Finishing, using crochet hook and white chain 25, tie double knot and tac to front of dress as shown.
