Fingering Wt. yarn, #2 Knitting Needles,#3 Knitting Needles, #4 Knitting Needles, #2 crochet hook,Narrow lace 3-4 yrds, metallic zig zag trim
Using #3 Needles, CO 36 sts.
*Stockinette for 1", ending by working a knit row
Knit 1 row, (you will now have a ridge for ruffle) *
Repeat the area * * a TOTAL of 5 times.
Decrease- K1, *K5, K2tog* across 31 sts
work in stockinette for and additional ¼"ending by working a P row
K 1, *K4, K 2tog* across (26sts)
Switch to #2 Needles, work 3 rows in stockinette
K 3, K 2 tog across, k last 3 sts (16 sts)
Increase - K 1, *K into front and back of next st* across, k1 (30sts)
Work in stockinette till entire piece measures *1/4" ending by working a P row.
K 6, Bind off 3 sts, K 12 Bind off 3 K rem sts
P 6, CO 3 sts, P 12, CO 3, P 6
K next row
##P 15 TURN leaving rem. sts unworked
K 2 tog across, k 1, TURN, bind off## reattach yarn w/ wrong side facing on opposite side. Work same as ## ## for this side.
RUFFLES
(NOTE) Don't worry too much about the Number of stitiches on the ruffles, they may vary, it won't effect how the outfit looks!
Starting at ridge closest to waist, w/ contrasting fingering wt. yarn and #3 needles, § Pick up and K each loop in the ridge§, work in stockinette for 1" bind off.
Next ridge, rep the area between §§ Next row, P 4, YO across, stockinette for 1 " bind off
Next ridge, rep the area between §§ Next row, P 3, YO across, stockinette for 1 ¼" bind off
Next ridge, rep the area between §§ Next row, P 2, YO across, stockinette for 1¼ " bind off
Next ridge using #4 needles, rep the area between §§ Next row, P 1, YO across, stockinette for 1½ " bind off
Finishing
Ch 25 using crochet hook w/ right side facing, join at back of neck. Sc evenly around w 3 sc at center of neck, continue sc till end of neck edge ch 25 break off. Sew lace to neck edge loosely. Trim neck w/ a flower or bow. Sew metallic trim to area just above top ruffle. Sew lace to lower edge of each ruffle, Use ties to fasten dress on doll. (There will be an open area on back of dress)
