Why they did it and the Consequences |
Reasons why they did it Most teenagers believe that so long as they are in love, they are ready for pre-marital sex. This is wrong as being in love does not mean you are mature enough to handle such matters. Also, teenagers often think "We always use a condom. Therefore, protected sex is okay" Although this is true in some ways, protected sex is not 100% safe. There is still a possibility that the girl might get pregnant, and if that happens, both the girl and boy may not be prepared and terrible consequences may happen. Why they should not do it Now, there are reasons why sex should wait till both parties are joined in matrimony. Virginity would mean a disease-free relationship and the start of an equal partnership where both parties can learn about sex together, and grow as one in intimate matters. Virginity is precious and special, therefore it should only be lost when the time is ripe. |

Consequences of doing it Pre-marital sex leads to nothing but problems. Some of the consequences of pre-marital sex are broken hearts, unwanted babies, abortions, torn relationships. Mostly, in pre-marital sex the girl is the one who loses out, as she is the one who might become pregnant with an unwanted child. This leads to abortion which is not only physically and emotionally painful, but also leaves physical scars as well as emotional scars. If the child is borned, the unmarried teenager will have to shoulder all the responsibilities of bringing up the child. Evidence show that 70% of teenage parents will give up their studies. 65% have to go to welfares for help. Those teenagers who marry mostly divorce after 3 years. Also, most of their children eventually grow up and become teenage parents themselves or get into trouble with the law. Pre-marital sex often lead to undesirable consequences. |
