As a teenager
Preventing teenage pregnancy
You can it prevent by:
Not dressing skimpily
Avoiding deserted roads / stairs when going home especially at night
Not getting too emotional with the opposite sex when you are 13-19 years old. You are still not mature enough to handle it if things go worst
Shutting up the guy you are chatting with if he goes overboard (in chatrooms)
Never going out or even follow a stranger to anywhere
If you still want to go out with that "cute" guy in the chatroom, go with a group consisting of boys and girls
Not curbing to peer pressure.
Actually, evidence shows that the number of non-virgins among young Singaporeans is only 5%.
Dealing with teenage pregnancy
Here are some advice for you:
Talk to someone.
If you are feeling terrible now, try and share it with someone, it will make you feel better. You can try and talk to your parents, friends or even teachers. But if you find it difficult to find someone, try some of the helplines of these associations:
Samaritans of Singapore
The Association of Woman for action and research
Lifeline
Seek help.
If you are in a dilema of what to do or how to take care of your baby, ask for help. This is similar to the first one. Consult people that you trust on problem like, "Should I abort my baby?" Aborting is a big decision as it affects a life. Do it only when you are sure. The websites of the above associations have information on how to take care of babies and what to look out for. If you want the opinion of someone who have gone through similar experiences, try these website chatrooms:

Get on with life
It is not the end of the world if you are raped or a teenage mother. Get on with life! Taking care of a baby does not mean you have to give up your studies, your future. All you have to do is to balance your time well, life should get on as usual.
