You can prevent it from happening to your child by:
Instilling a strong bond in the family. This way, your children will have self-worth. Teenagers with self-worth are less likely to jump into bed with the first person who comes along.
Being a positive role model yourself. You are actually modelling your childs marriage and love life. They are constantly learning from you. What you are, is most probably what they will turn out to be.
Being open about it. Give them the information and create case studies for discussions. This way, they will be able to come up with their own decisions. No amount of lecturing will change their decision if they do not want to listen to you.
Supervising them till they are mature enough. You never know when they will go astray. The cause of most teenagers engaging in pre-marital sex is because of negligence from their parents.
