Deathcount3: it's about the earth getting blown up in 1000 years, and a few survivors need to initiate this machine thing called "Titan AE" to create a new planet for humans

Deathcount3: it tries to appeal to kids too much for my tastes, and I think it lost the anime crowd with that
Deathcount3: did not do well in theaters

Deathcount3: and set back any type of American animation other than children's musicals back years

Deathcount3: I liked Pocahontas...that was the last animated musical I bothered to go to
Mercury240: eh...pocahontas was okay
Mercury240: the music was nice
Deathcount3: wait, I went to Hercules for some reason. That thing sucked...
Mercury240: awww, hercules was cute
Deathcount3: I liked the melancholy ending
Deathcount3: the only part I liked about Hercules was the fight with the Hydra, and if you put that under analysis it was really stupid

Deathcount3: in Greek legend, when Heracles cut off the vipers head 2 grew back in its place. So, being the clever guy he was, he jammed hot torches into the severed heads to keep them from growing back, until all the heads were gone. In Disney's version he just keeps cutting off heads like an idiot until, for some reason, the Hydra dies.

Deathcount3: then at the end he gives up his godlihood to be with the lying bitch...like we didn't see that coming
Mercury240: yeah...
Deathcount3: I never saw Tarzan, or Atlantis...the Lion King was a rip off of an anime, like I said before...the Little Mermaid was good for kids...
Deathcount3: Beauty and the Beast was good
Mercury240: tarzan was good
Mercury240: and atlantis was funny
Mercury240: kind of predictable, and a few plot holes, but good

Mercury240: the explosives specialist was GREAT
Mercury240: tarzan was kind of dark for a kids movie
Mercury240: and despite the fact that nsync did some of the music, it was good
Deathcount3: oh yeah, Hunchback sucked, despite being dark at parts
Deathcount3: Jesus!!!

Mercury240: and the villians are ALWAYS like that
Mercury240: like gaston in beauty and the beast? yeah, total stereotype.
Mercury240: beauty and the beast had some stuff going for it
Deathcount3: The guy in Hunchback came out much worse than Gaston though. He was consumed with lust and hatred. And he got to say "hell" in his song
Mercury240: good music, nice plot, and it got nominated for best picture...only animated movie in its time to get that
Deathcount3: now that I think about it, Beauty and the Beast was weak. Just had some catchy songs

Mercury240: the camera panning and stuff
Mercury240: i didnt like gaston, he was too annoying

Mercury240: the voice actors were good, though. i liked beast's.

Mercury240: good music, good animation, and funny to boot
Deathcount3: probably the funniest Disney movie

Deathcount3: never saw that David Spade thing. Looks pretty good, actually.

Deathcount3: Jafar wanted to be a god, that was cool
Mercury240: kat, dani, jessica, laura, my cousins and i thought it was good
Mercury240: yeah. and they did a good job with costumes in aladin =P

Deathcount3: then there's the cgi stuff; Toy Story 1 & 2 and A Bugs Life
Mercury240: i liked a bugs life

Mercury240: toy story wasn't that great, but the second one was better
Deathcount3: never saw TS 2 either
Deathcount3: eh, seemed like a waste of talent
Mercury240: i wanna see final fantasy
Deathcount3: me too, really bad
Deathcount3: early reports say that the story wasn't that good though
Mercury240: i think its one of those things that you either love or hate
Mercury240: it sounds good,
Mercury240: but ive heard the same thing
Deathcount3: The animation looks incredible
Mercury240: yeah
Deathcount3: that's one of the few movies I'd see only for effects
Mercury240: i read in one of scott's magazines that they spent most of the time on the animation, and they left out plot
Mercury240: but the storyline sounds well thought out, i guess
Deathcount3: wouldn't surprise me
Deathcount3: sounds kinda typical I thought. It really has nothing to do with Final Fantasy, but it'll do much better in theaters if it has the name tacked onto it, so I can see why Square called it that

Mercury240: square decided if it had a basic ff plot it'd be to plain
Mercury240: and people would think "oh, i'm seeing the game i just played" and wouldn't want to see it
Deathcount3: it does kinda have the basic FF plot...buncha people save the world from destruction...
Mercury240: they left out the chocobos
Deathcount3: and Moogles
Mercury240: and theres no traveling around looking for crap
Mercury240: getting in battles every three seconds

Deathcount3: the spirit guys looked cool.
