The Man With No Emotions

He slowly walks out in the frost beaten air

He breathes out a sigh, he just doesn't care

With a glazed look he stares up at he sky and wonders

Whether he should live or die

He carries on walking further into the night

A long shadow falls as he passes street lights

The cold wind bites him Alas he still doesn't care

It's the pain in his heart that's the hardest to bear

So who is this man walking?

Is it you? Is it I?

Well I'll tell you, you know him

And now I'll tell you why

He is the man with no emotions

The man who you think never cries

That's because his inner feelings

Are hidden deep inside

You'll hear him laugh away

The snide comments of his life

Although each one hurts him

Like a cut from a knife

And the wound will slowly deepen

Until at last he'll die

In pain, in misery

But you'll never know why.

He draws a large breath as he passes his old school

But the memories that return are bitter and cruel

The comments in passing an the rumours around the class

Although he laughed, they cut him like glass

He showed no emotion, the people didn't care

The man you can hurt, as much as you dare

But he carries on walking, silent tear in his eye

Just wondering whether to live or to die

So who is this man walking?

Is it you? Is it I?

Well I'll tell you, you know him

And now I'll tell you why

He is the man with no emotions

The man who you think never cries

That's because his inner feelings

Are hidden deep inside

You'll hear him laugh away

The snide comments of his life

Although each one hurts him

Like a cut from a knife

And the wound will slowly deepen

Until at last he'll die

In pain, in misery

But you'll never know why.

He stands on the bridge that the cars pass beneath

He looks at the road, badly stricken with grief

He knows some people love him but they too don't understand

The feelings inside were always kept in hand.

Suddenly there's no grief or sorrow anymore

A crowd gathers round, not believing what they saw

The cracked smile on his face shows he's found peace at last

The snide comments of his life have finally past

So who was that man walking?

Is it you? Is it I?

Well I'll tell you, you knew him

And now I'll tell you why

He is the man with no emotion

The man who you thought never cried

But the man you hurt so badly

So caused him to die

So when you're passing comment

Be careful what you say

Because the men with no emotions

We're still around today

So go forth then my brothers

Speak of only love to fellow man

Let's get rid of loneliness and despairing

If we can.
