An unexpected love affair, with someone much younger, but the meeting of minds seeming total. A love affair spawned from the support, friendship and companionship of the support they gave each other over their battered pasts.

The new controversy was as follows. Having been banned from using an amplifier with a prolonged protest campaign featured on the "Looking For Trouble" CD, Grod then was fighting a ban that he was still too loud without an amplifier. But rumour was circulating that the council was now going to finish off Grod once and for all.

The excuse, that the new multi-million pound Bath Spa was about to be opened, celebrated with a concert in the city by the "Three Tenors."

That with world-wide attention on the city that it was time to clear the streets of the beggars. And certainly didn't want the event distracted by any loud buskers.

In the meantime the former partner who wreaked own marriage with an affair, had abused Grod in her next relationship and had two affairs in the three months he lived with her, then and wrecked his work as a children's entertainer, but also worked for the Council trying to get rid of Grod as a busker, had gained promotion in her work.

Now his ex was the "Sure Start" programme manager, promoting family values. At the Council Tax payers expense

It appeared to Grod the reward for her being part of the conspiracy of victimization against him. To give her untruthful words and immoral deeds more power, credence and respectability. It all made him sick to the stomach.

But he had a tried and tested way of fighting back. Through the music and songs of his CD's, coupled with the data sides of the CD telling the story of what was going on.

Except now he was even better at it and had armed himself with a new tool. Video. Recording what was happening and compressing it into files that could easily be distributed on CD and the Internet. There would be no hiding from the truth.

There is no point in spotting the signs and then not re-acting to them. Something was going on and Grod went to ground.

But while the Council thought he'd been scared off, he was plotting his next CD and assault. But also the biggest crisis of his life, surrounding his new found love, was also in the background unfurling with tragic consequences.

The day before the concert Grod suddenly re-appeared busking on the city streets. Promoting his new CD "The Three Tenners." So called because £30 was what he earned on average a day busking. Any similar sounding event in Bath was a complete coincidence.

Though closer inspection of the three £10 notes on the cover and CD-label reveals the Queens head has been replaced, with the heads of the three famed tenors.

The life of Grod has many unusual twists and turns.

Unknown to him there was actually an "eve of the main event concert" at the Pump Rooms for dignitaries, the concert being performed by the fourth tenor. The one brought along to replace any of the big three if they happened to fall ill.

And fate would have it that the fourth tenor turned up for his concert with his entourage to find Grod busking outside, promoting his "Three Tenners CD."

He announced his arrival by suddenly joining in with Grod singing "Country Roads." This big tenor voice suddenly came blasting from behind Grod. But got quite a surprise when Grod then matched him for volume and melody.

It finished to rapturous applause from the crowd already enjoying Grod's performance, but this was a special treat. From time to time Grod would be joined by another musician, but this time it was a famous tenor. Who grinned and asked Grod which song they were going to do next?

To much amusement Grod turned to him and told him his gig was indoors, this outdoor one was his!

That didn't seem to discourage him from sticking around the next ten minutes performing duets with Grod of "Annie's Song" and "Leaving On a Jet Plane." The John Denver theme stuck to, as he once famously recorded a series of duets with Placido Domingo, one of the three tenors.

At the end there was huge applause, smiles and handshakes and Grod presented an autographed copy of "The Three Tenners" to his new found friend and supporter. Who looked at it and grinned. He loved the title.

Then he spotted his friends faces on the featured ten pound notes and roared with laughter. For a moment Grod became a little worried about image copyright.

"No! They will love this!" the fourth tenor exclaimed " I can't wait to show them it when I get back to the hotel, they have a great sense of humour, they will love it. I assure you I will play it to them too."

The following day Grod also came out busking. It was the day of the big concert and having tickets for the event his parents, elder sister and husband, his landlord and some friends joined Grod to witness a wonderful concert by the "Three Tenors." It was never an event Grod had wanted to sabotage at any time in any way.

But during a break from busking, one of the Pump Room security guards came over to have a quick chat with Grod.

"You know that fourth tenor you were playing with last night?" he ventured smiling, "Well let's just say he brought the house down last night with a long standing ovation, then gave them an encore of "Nessum Dorma" that lead to an even longer standing ovation.

Then when it had quieted down he gave a short speech. He told them all how wonderful he had found Bath in this, his first ever visit. That everything seemed wonderful beautiful and perfect.

That even the busker outside had been brilliant and singing with him was something he would remember for a very long time. That Bath had an awful lot to be proud of. That when the new Spa opened it should be the cherry on the cake.

By now the Pump Room security guard passing on the story was talking with a broad grin.

"You should have seen the look on their faces" he laughed "Unknown to him of course was that amongst the audience was just about everyone who's been lobbying to get rid you! Yet he was singing your praises and they all felt compelled to clap!"

Some victories are hollow. But some are very sweet and happen when you least expect it.

It was the data side of the CD though that held the serious stuff.

The music side was meant to be serious stuff also.

With "The Three Tenors" concert being one of opera and classical music, the CD had a classical music theme. All the songs and instrumentals were complex arrangements with classical overtones.

The CD was a themed compilation, including tracks previously used, but the inclusion of newly recorded tracks. Recorded as yet a further new CD looked inevitable, as yet another relationship was coming crashing down.

But amongst the tracks there was controversy to match the data side of the CD.

The CD started with the instrumental that had started his breakthrough CD "Diary Of A Millionaire.", the majestic "Reign"

Continuing with an instrumental theme, this was followed by a new track "Dusk."

It was created by using themes used in "Duskbusk" that could be performed as an entire piece on the keyboard live. Similar to that in the creation of the backing for "Jezebel."

Except Grod had a new toy to play with. A new laptop, which had a new and different recording studio program. With new effects and better sound enhancing tools.

To test it's capabilities Grod played the piece in one straight take into the laptop, then added a couple of effects. "Dusk" flooded out of the speakers.

Distinct from "Duskbusk" and the themes used for "Jezebel" it was it's own entity and but continued the theme.

The following track though was a new song. Meant for a future CD.

"G.S.O.H" stands for "Good Sense Of Humour" and is found in lots of personnel ads of those seeing new love through the newspapers, magazines and internet. It is these ads and the search for new love in this way that is explored by the songs lyrics.

Waking to a day you again loathe to acknowledge, then begin the search for that new love who would change everything. But past experience knowing that these ads aren't always what they seem. There are people out there preying on others loneliness for financial gain.

But if you don't look, you never know. Whose to say the next blind date isn't the one you've always waited for?

But the answer sometimes being, the one you waited for had already arrived and left. Whatever else is out there is second best and will never replace.

As mentioned above, sometimes you don't always get what you expect.

The CD's controversy also starts here with the next song "Fantasy." Not only because of it's lyrical content about an S & M fantasy role-play, but the inclusion of a backing track featuring such a scenario in full flow.

To deepen the controversy, the voice of the woman administering the punishment would be familiar to some. For fans of Grod's earlier works, it was the voice of "Jezebel" herself. His former girlfriend who was now trying to ruin him and his reputation.

The woman employed promoting family values for the council, now even promoted to manage and co-ordinate the council's "Sure Start scheme."

But the track showing her in a light the council would rather wish people didn't know. And Grod feeling it was actually quite important they did. Does the public really want a real life sadist over-seeing their children's development?

And truth is rather difficult to ignore or deny. And the fact that it was Grod on the receiving end of the recorded scenario, he has the right to feel just a little angered. And want to expose the scandal, corruption and victimization blighting within our Authorities that has affected his and others lives.

So those with a bit of the detective about them, could explore the data side of the CD. If able to crack the code, has then access to a fair amount of documentation evidence. But also the video the S&M soundtrack was taken from.

The truth is all out there, if you want to find it.

From the onslaught to the ears of the previous track, it was time to restore the classical overtone to the CD and calm things down.

But also not to forget the busking element and the fighting against the bans. It seemed only right to include the busker improvised symphony featured on "Diary Of A Millionaire." With the rumour that all busking in Bath might be outlawed by the council, it was time to re-introduce "Duskbusk"

However while the previous track "Duskbusk" had soothed the listeners ears, it only was setting the theme for the next track and leading the listener into a false sense of security.

It was time to unleash "Jezebel."

Previously released on "Diary OF A Millionaire", that version didn't include the montage of sound bites taken from videos and recorded telephone conversations. It was these though that gave the track its true quality. It was they that showed first hand what the songs lyrics were actually about.

The full version had been released before though, as an unlisted bonus track along with "The Man With No Emotions" at the end of some versions of the CD "Grodsong."

But "The Three Tenners" was about exposing the controversies that had afflicted Grod's life, to shame those responsible, to hopefully bring about change.

Jezebel was a large slice in this story, her abuses also shown in the track "Fantasy." And she was directly employed by the Council also victimizing Grod, the conspiracy theory that she was always a set-up to destroy Grod, thickened.

Life though had taken yet another twist for Grod. There was a new love in Grod's life. It had grown from friendship and the support they had given to each other. Comfort from the problems they faced, a scenario of abuse they were both trying to escape from.

But the conversations had shown up other things, they shared a similar sense of humour and of music. Then they found they shared similar tastes in more personal areas of life.

Grod had chatted honestly and freely, as had she. One of the main reasons was the thought of any kind of relationship as lovers seemed not on the cards, due to the large age difference between them.

Grod certainly didn't want to have anything to do with her family, with the stories she'd been telling him. They just liked each other and wanted to help each other and both appreciated each others support and company.

But then controversy. She was apparently seen talking to Grod and suddenly found herself being questioned by her mother. Accused of having a relationship with someone much older then herself and it had to stop immediately, and that Grod was going to be "sorted out."

It was though untrue.

What had developed was a very close friendship. What was true, was that if she had wanted to be in a more intimate relationship, she was legally old enough to choose that for herself.

In talking over the situation with her, Grod decided it was best they stopped seeing each other. While the friendship and support meant a lot to both, he had enough problems on his plate.

She was insistent though that her family had ruined much of her life so far, now she'd found someone she could trust to talk to about it. She thoroughly enjoyed being with Grod and here was her family again trying to ruin everything, why let them?

She insisted that they should still meet up, just take a lot more care and meet up secretly. That her friends had already said they would help cover for her. She pleaded with Grod that he didn't understand how important in her life he was, how much he'd helped her.

At that point Grod popped the question. Was she in fact looking for anything more then friendship?

She nodded very quickly and quietly looked straight into his eyes. In one more blink of an eye they stood holding each other as close as they could.

By now there was no doubt either for Grod. The time spent with her over the last few months had consistently shown him one thing.

This wasn't a crush by a young girl, this was genuine love that had built up over time and trust. The only barrier had been the age difference. And while having a relationship with someone so much younger was always going to have its risks, there was nothing legally stopping them.

Over the next few hours a deal was struck. That from this stage she was his girlfriend and he her boyfriend and would treat her as such. There was no one else Grod had enjoyed being with so much in his lifetime. She had been there when everyone seemed to have spurned him.

It was obvious that he also meant the same to her.

But included in the deal was that didn't mean they were going to start having sex. That was only going to happen when he was absolutely sure she was serious about being with him, and that was months possibly even years away. He also believed her to be a virgin.

But the door was open to become closer. But for at least the next two years, to keep the relationship secret to only those both trusted to tell.

So amongst the turmoil in Grod's life, suddenly a ray of light and hope would enter his life, his motorhome and his studio flat occasionally. As well as his studio, "Greyfield" became a love nest and playroom.

Christmas approached. Signed off by his doctor Grod awaited an operation to remove a large painful abscess from his jaw. Which had grown in the cavity left when a large cyst had previously been removed. Money was tighter then ever, the debts growing larger.

But traditionally the time for giving presents, Grod wanted to give his new love a special present. So instead of buying her something, he made her something.

They had met because she used to come out with a group of friends to watch him busk. But then been amazed at the CD's he had made and the songs he'd recorded, which were far different to what he was doing when busking. She even knew all the lyrics to "Rock Bottom"!

Grod had spent his spare time recording a special Christmas album. Every other famous artist seemed to have had a crack at recording the traditional carols and included new ones they hoped might become standards, so why not Grod, in his own unique style.

This was to be a dark Christmas CD, sung by someone who Christmas now meant very little. This was a Christmas spent alone, no contact from family.

But it was hardly the thing to give as a present to the new love of your life.

What would be was a song that was written and recorded for her, about her. Using the nickname she had adopted in the relationship, "Wicked Witch.", WW on the text messages.

"I ditched the bitch for the sweet Wicked Witch, from a dominatrix to one who plays tricks."

The first two lines flowed out. "Jezebel" was gone, replaced by a younger more decent model.

The same fun and games but played with an entirely different spirit. A spirit reflected also by the epic dance track feel of the backing music, as Grod's music also entered a new genre and challenge.

"The Three Tenners" was about controversy. While the relationship was quite a secret, it was because of the controversy of the age-gap. And if people found out the fun and games they were up to, some might have been equally shocked.

The fact they were completely mutual and consensual, having the time of their lives and breaking no laws might not have occurred to them. This was their relationship, it's what they wanted, and it wasn't up to others. It was about their trust and trussed!

If anybody thought Grod was taking advantage, a quick look at her text messages showed him as anything but the instigator. If they were any further doubts, a video camera was also recording everything. Grod was still keeping a video diary of everything in his life.

As "The Three Tenners" CD was released, the video diary of the relationship showed it blossom, then be savagely ripped apart in the most cruel way, with tragic consequences.

Adding more unwanted controversy to Grod's life, again through decisions made that were opposite to what he knew was for the best, but not listened to.

Once again left with fingers pointing at him at the center of the carnage. But completely innocent, but people not wanting to even hear an explanation. With once again, the Authorities playing their role, being paid to screw up big time once again.

And one more woman who tried to lie her way out of the affair she denied, but was obvious.

Artistes have their muse, and Grod's new muse was the new young love in his life. She brought the soundtrack to their relationship, whenever they were together.

Especially in the times of fun and games, it was her favourite band "Muse" that was playing in the background.

One day she turned to Grod and said "That last track, the lyrics seem to sum up perfectly what you've been through and what our relationship is." The track was "Unintended." Listening to it again he knew where she was coming from.

The following day they listened to the lyrics again. But this time it wasn't "Muse" playing. It was Grod, who throughout the night had sat down to record the song that defined their controversial relationship. Then later and found it's way onto the controversial "The Three Tenners" CD.

Of course it all seemed to feel so right at the time. But disaster had again struck for Grod. What was secret and unintended, had become public knowledge and needed explaining.

Except nobody wanted to hear the truth. He must have been mad to even contemplate the relationship would work. He belonged to the nut house. And as the conspiracy grew, so did the prospect of a high security sanatorium, with a welcome planned by its inmates.

But that would only happen if the truth became shrouded by the lies and hate of others, trying once again to hide their own grubby fingerprints in what had prevailed.

But the truth about Grod had already been broadcast.

It had been on the radio two years previously, when fighting the ban on his amplifier. But was only broadcast in Yorkshire where he had briefly escaped to.

The finale of "The Three Tenners" CD gave the opportunity for that radio broadcast to be heard.

Grod spoke freely in this interview how his Christian commitment was behind his street entertainment. That he only earned any money if people freely gave, that money wasn't the priority in his life, it was how he spent the time he had in his life.

He wasn't out to lie to people, steal or beg off people, go out his way to make others people's lives a misery. He was out seeking the truth and broadcasting the truth.

The problem was Grod's current situation, on top of the myriad of other situations blighting his life, now seemed to be proving one thing. If there was a God, he was a cruel and heartless one. Grod's Christian faith was now well and truly on the rocks. 

It seemed any power God seemed to claim of his earth had all but dissipated. The truth seemed to be, that all good and evil on this earth, was all the work of mankind. God just wanted credit for the good bits.
