T26E3
The T26E3 was the final stage before the preproduction prototype the T26E4 ( pic on front page ) . It had dispensed with the Tucker type track and is using a shortened Weasel type with track shoes rivetted on to a vulcanised steel cable carrier. This rubber surfaced carrier running on rubber bogies made for a quiet ride and was far less likely to build up ice in the running gear. (courtesy Fred W. Crismon [NAS])
M7 on the move
Finally in its element, this M7 has both wheels and skis on at the same time. Note it has a hood blanket to retain engine heat and a second pair of skis ( apparently std. issue ) inverted acting as fenders. If you were in patches of deep snow and open ground then this configuration would be preferred. ( courtesy Fred. W Crismon [NAS])
