Fix 1 (Van Drunen)

This is the Van Drunen Fix for the V12 small PSTwo console. Installing this fix will save the laser in the console. The fix is almost a must if you´re going to install a chip, if you don´t feel lucky. Installing it is a little bit more complex compared to the diode fix since you solder three points and remove a fuse.

We also recommend the Diode Fix, we use both these fixes on the PSTwo consoles when we install chips, to be on the safe side. See recommended products below.

  • Van Drunen Fix, saves the PSTwo laser.

Diode Fix

MFD Board ~ Protect your Laser Lens
It is a special PCB design with 8 pcs of diode for all PS2 SCPH-700XX serials. It can protect the Laser Lens of PS2 V12 console with modchip installed. Actually, The MFD board is the same function to "Matrix-Fix" but easy install (save time) and more stable (won't burn resistor)!

Fix 2
Neo-Fix Xii ~ Protect Lens and RS2004FS
It is a special PCB design with 8 pcs of diode and one pic for all PS2 SCPH-700XX serials. The brilliant performance of the device has become a much better solution than the previous MFD to the issue (RS2004FS).

Fix v3

All fixes on the internet with regulators current limiters and diode fixes are not working so accurate as this one because they only limit the current a little and time will kill you're coils at the end.

This protection circuit will totally shut down the output channels of the RS2004FS the moment MECHANICS CONTROLLER  or DSP crash, fail ore whatever.
If mechanics controller or DSP will crash during play this laser protection circuit responds in less than 50ms and put RS2004FS in mute mode so all output channels are shut down and current thru you're laser will be 0 (zero, nada nopes). If the error state of mechanics controller or DSP continuous for more than 200ms the PStwo will shut down.

To test if you're protection circuit is working put you're PStwo in standby mode open the top cover and press the reset button you're PStwo will not switch on. If it switches on there is something wrong installed.

SubZero Fix

The SubZero fix is the most reduced and reliable RS2004FS shutdown fix on the market. That means that it shuts down all of the laser lens driver chip's outputs completely as soon as it detects a MechanicsController lockup.

As soon as the /interrupt line between the MechanicsController and the DigitalSignalProcessor in the psTwo goes low, the capacitor in the SubZero fix circuit starts to discharge. If the /interrupt line does not go high within 50miliseconds - the capacitor discharges and mutes the RS2004FS completely. By doing that it prevents ANY dangerously high currents resulting from the lockup to flow thru the lens coils. The lens coils are now 100% immune to the dangerous MechanicsController lockups.

It is the only fix of this kind that does NOT use any programmable ICs like the PIC12C508. It consists of exclusively passive components, 3 in total to be exact. By that we reduce the minimum install solder point count to 3, which speeds up the install and most of all - keeps all possible sources of error and malfunction to a minimum. The 3 reliable passive components are also the cheapest implementation of the fix, making it very competitive in price.

*The pcb also has the "summ0ne fix" for v12.1 and v12.2 onboard. The user may apply both in conjunction for dual protection. Applying the minimum install WITHOUT the "summ0ne fix" is recommended for best performance and media compatibility.

*The fix will work great with ANY modchip.
