Cupid's Cookie Hearts
4 Cups all-purpose flour In medium mixing bowl combine flour, spices, and baking soda. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter or margarine on medium speed 30 seconds. Add brown sugar; beat till fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Add flour mixture; beat well. Cover and chill about 2 hours. Cut a heart-shaped paper pattern six inches in diameter. On pastry sheet or lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Place pattern atop dough; cut out around edges. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 350 degree over about 12 minutes. Cool 1 minute before removing to wire racks; cool completely. For frosting, in small mixing bowl beat butter til light and fluffy. Gradually add half the powdered sugar, bearting well. Beat in milk and vanilla. Gradually beat in enough remaining sugar to make frosting of piping consistency. Divide frosting and stir in food coloring as desired. Spoon frosting into pastry tube; pipe onto cooled cookies as desired. Store in covered container. Makes about 20 cookies.
