February 21th, 2003
After months of planning and despite torrential downpours over 40 Growlers and friends made their way down the Mississippi River to New Orleans to watch the Grizzlies take on the Hornets at the New Orleans Arena across from the Superdome.
Thanks to Matt Devlin, Eric Hassletine and Co. for giving us our '15 minutes' of fame. We appeared on television three times! This was the first road trip for the Growlers....watch out neighboring NBA cities, we have our sights on you next!
The game was a heartbreaker! our Grizz fell in overtime 125-123. But they put on a great showing against a probable Eastern Confrence play-off team.

"G-Man" and "Migala" (aka the Spanish Elvis) paused before the game for a photo.
Migala and his fiance Naomi made their second trip to the South to see their favorite NBA team (and player: Pau Gasol) in action several times thanks to a gracious American host (and Growlers board member) G-Man.
Showing true Growler spirit, after the New Orleans game, the three traveled to Houston to catch the Grizzlies/Rockets game.

Our youngest fan to make the trip, was Michael shown here with his mom, Casey. He was adored by Growlers and Hornets fans alike. Michael grew very tired from cheering and was able to catch up on his sleep during overtime, despite much noise from the Growlers "section."
