| REFERENCES Jan, You would not believe how happy we are with Shadow. He is now tall enough that standing on all fours his head is above the normal table. He weighs around 98# and is thin as a rail. He is people and dog friendly. In fact, we baby sit for our daughters shepherd Cokie and for our sons Schnauzer (thinks it is a shepherd) and all three get along famously. In fact this morning I took a picture of Cokie and Shadow eating side by side from two bowls. They drink from the same bowl at the same time and play tug-of-war with a rope. Let me see if I can convince my wife that we want to take on the job of another puppy. I will try to send you pictures tonight. FYI Shado is a traveler including FL. Norm Jan, I'm writing you from the ballpark in San Diego. Things are very good for us...the pup, Bogey we got from you (almost 2 years ago now) is a real joy although he is HUGE. About 90 pounds but very tall. He has perhaps the best disposition of any dog we've ever had, loves to ride in the car and is sensational with our 4 little grandkids. Wish I knew of someone that was looking for a GSD cause I would surely send them your way. It's nice to hear from you, congratulations to your grandson...Go Cards. Jim Jackson Jan, Good to hear from you. I had already seen your web site. I know this is the time of year you have your pups, so I have been watching. Rina is doin well. I'm going to have her in her first fun obedience match this week-end. We are still working on agility also. She loves all the jumping and running--when it's not sooooo hot. Yesterday all of our kids and grandkids were over to bar-b-que. We pulled out the little kid's pool, hose, and big tank squirt guns for every one to play with . Rina was in the middle of the action. She loves to play with the kids and the water is irresistible. She's not quite ready to visit the nursing homes yet. Rina is still a little too active. I don't want her to hurt anyone accidentally with a big paw just trying to shake hands. She is definitely the dog I wanted...Take care. Kathy H. Hi! Hope you get this mail? We're sending some new pictures of the queen. She has completed level 2 of obedience. She scored 187 out of 200 and at the top of her class? She knows when to perform in the rink, but not at home. She does not play with the other dogs in her class. Instead, she tries to herd them? Could easily pass a herding certificate? She only plays with the other German Shepherd in her class. It's fun to watch her herd the doberman and bull-mastif! Thank god the weather is getting better, but she finds every bit of mud in our back yard to roll in. If we don't keep her busy at all times, she hunts for trouble, like stealing papers, pens, etc. off the table. I hope you can see from the pictures what a great gait she has, and how truly well-defined and beautiful she is. Her face still has a lot of black except for the two tan eyebrows she is defiitely queen of the household and gets along with everyone at the restaurant. Email us soon! Hope everyone is in great health, and hope the hogs survived Easter! Love, Betsy and family Jan We are so lucky to have Anja! She passed her tests for therapy work at 14 months and was accepted two months later into the Animal Assisted Therapy program at a major hospital! She is wonderful with patients and clearly loves working with them. When Anja is not working at the hospital, she is the best companion dog imaginable--wonderful in our home and perfect with visitors. She is funny, playful, loving, and completely devoted to us, our little corgi, and our ancient cat. The most remarkable thing is to watch her with children--all of those grandchildren you have really did their job in socializing her. Truly, we can't think of a better dog, which is why we are looking anxiouisly forward to add a Gritta-Haus puppy to the family. Beth |
