About this map: It started out as a simple project to make a Redeemer hunting ground.A place ideally suited for piloting the Redeemer in missile-cam mode.Then the idea of launch silos came into play.Then in the course of making the map and exploring UT's missions.I found AS-Frigate and the gun turrets.I went wild adding gun emplacements and fortified defense points all over the map.Holdout bunkers equipped with health, ammo and weapons for hiding from Redeemers and sniping their operators.There is a lot of open space here so if you are running across open battleground you may be sniped at,nuked or even step on mine and blow yourself to giblets.Approaching the defense installations will be a test of courage and charging the gun turrets will almost certainly result in your immediate disintegration and gibletization.Of course once you are in a bunker with an opponent,space runs short real fast and you can find yourself at point blank range real quick.There is no shortage of gear and guns on this map. Editors notes: I learned all about Zone portals here as well as importing textures,ambush/defense points,gun turrets and Projectile classes. My first exploding glass appears heres as well as multi-movers.The map features over 20 movers and two silos to launch missiles from in relative safety..I use explosion chains for mines and mini quakes.I used a simple skybox,continued to evolve my floor lofting skills and created numerous shapes with the 2D Shape editor.It is fully pathnoded and the bots use pretty much everything and might camp in the sewer tunnel from time to time.The poly count is sweet until you cause the defense guns to open fire then your pc is gonna slow down unless you got NASA gear.There are a few bad polys and some side node issues but hey!This is my first big map ok?It took four months,off and on. |
