Well, while this is a good book in what it does, it didnt hold up to my expectations. For some reason this didnt hit the cool button for me and Ill tell you why. The whole book, nearly all 160 pages of it, largely details only 7 different starports. I would have thought that in a book like this, more than only seven starports would have been talked about. Additionally, they dont really give you much to work on for creating your own starport.
In the beginning of the book, theres an introduction by a character known as Platt Okeefe. This is a character that was created for the Adventure Journals, and basically grew in popularity. Right after the introduction, which contains stats for Platt Okeefe, is a measly 10 pages on various spacefaring agencies, permits, infractions, and port classes. All of these, I believe, are available in other books, such as Tramp Freighters. From there, the rest is all starport information.
Dont get me wrong, the information they give for the starports are greatwell detailed and pretty unique. Considering that each port is given almost 20 pages to cover it, the detail in them is substantial. I wont go into detail about what each port is about, but suffice to say that if youre looking for a couple of starports to put into your game, this book has them. So if youre interested in a few unique starports for your adventures, but not on how to come up with new ports yourself, add a Yoda for your own rating. For me, however, the ol disappointment set in.
