| Notes for GEORGE Griswold | ||||||||||||||||
| 3) The Griswold Family Association has spent years and many dollars reseraching the origin of Edward, Matthew, Thomas, Michael and Francis back to England. We now believe that Edward is a half brother to Matthew and Thomas. Their father is George who married Dousable (surname believed to be LEIGH). Dorothy James belongs to another Griswold (Henry, II), not of this line. 4) Francis Griswold's father is believed to have been Clement Griswold who married Lucy HARPER. He would be a third cousin to Edward, Matthew and Thomas. I hope this is of some help to your research. We appreciate you verifying your information rather than continuing with bad lineage. >From the Desk of [email protected] Coralee Griswold Griswold Family Genealogist 10 | ||||||||||||||||
| Notes for Edward (Child 1) | ||||||||||||||||
| Edward's father George(Roger,William) was Baptized 6 Nov 1574 at Wooten Wawen He married first Dousabel Leigh(Lye,Ley?)who was buried at Wooten Wawen 28 Aug 1615. Her only known child is Edward. George's second wife is unknown but had Matthew and Thomas. On Nov 12, 1616 George purchased from Hugh Underhill and his sister Lettuce a cottage and garden at Kenilworth. This is probably a move taken on occasion of his second marriage which leaves the question did his second wife have a connection with the Underhills 27 | ||||||||||||||||
