You
can play unlimited amount of characters, just try
to keep track. |
|
|
No
strong or offensive language. Even if your
character is lude and crude with an attitude. If
you must in order to stay in character, please
use something like, "#*%@!" and be more
creative than "*****!" |
|
|
No
strong suggestive $#X inuindo. In short nothing
worse than kissing, snuggling, or a cuddling hug.
Nothing really descriptive, I'd like to keep my
lunch, thank you very much. |
|
|
Don't
kill anyone off unless you have their
purrrrmission and mine. But maybe we could avoid
that. I am thinking of making a list of whomever
doesn't mind if they get wounded, or maybe a list
of those who object to ever getting hit,
whichever list becomes bigger, let me know your
preference. In other words, keep the
phasers on STUN! |
|
|
Please
try and make an entry at least once to twice a
week. I hope to keep this moving fast. If you are
unable to, let me know. But I understand things
get hectic, but if after a few weeks I don't hear
from you, the character(s) will be made available
again. I will not stalk you down to find out
where you went. |
|
|
To
request a character to play, please email me with the
message subject UHURA'S SONG RPG CHARACTER
REQUEST (Something to that affect, as I may
eventually have more rpgs), and say in the
message text which character(s) you'd like to
play. In your email please state, the character(s)
you are requesting, and how they fit in the story
(Enterprise crew, felinoid), and a pre-written
description of them, like their attitude, likes
and dislikes, etc. And also your email where you
can be reached for sure. Please wait for me to
give you the Okay before playing. |

We're
also on a whole 'nother planet now. So consider
that this feline race, may not know of
expressions we use here on earth everyday. Unless
they overheard them from the Starship crew
members. |

|
Oh
yeah, and if threads pop up in portuguese, they're
prolly ads, and can be ignored. I will try to
delete interferring posts. I have the right to
pull threads I find unfit, but hopefully this
will not happen at all, and we can keep our story
clean. |
|
|
Please
try to write in third person. ie. "I'm a
doctor, not a magician!" McCoy shouted. Not
in first person like, "I shouted at him.",
unless you're speaking out loud. And please try a
bit and write at LEAST three sentences minimum.
Write in story form and NOT in chatroom form with
+'s. |
|
|
Things
like mental thoughts, ponderings, and wonderings,
try to italicize them and put asterix (*) around
them. And if you like, when yelling, make them
bold. If you don't know how to do this. To make Italics,
put this before your text then put in
your text, then at the very end of the text put
. To do bold, use text
, for larger emphasized type
text . |
|
|
Please
if you go 'Out Of Character', use the
abbreviation, OOC, and BIC when you return to
being 'Back In Character'. Try and stay on topic. |

This
is based on the book Uhura's Song, based
on the original Star Trek series. The
main characters are a race of felinoids
who look like bipedal, human-sized cats.
They have prehensile tails and use them
for almost everything.
Their planet is called Sivao, and they
live a nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle,
although they actually have a fairly high
level of technology. They live in tents
in small groups. Each camp usually has a
bard, or singer/poet, who is held in high
regard.
The adolescents do not sleep in the tents
with the adults and children, but in what
is called a "swagger-lair"
which is basically a sort of covered
hammock slung between 2 trees about 30
feet up. Sivaoans have claws and can
climb well. The swagger lairs, as well as
tents and many other things, are made
from "Usefuls" heavy, blanket-sized
pieces of fabric.
Sivaoans have no word for marriage in
their language, there are no couples.
Children are disciplined by being cuffed
across the side of the head. A Sivaoan
saying is "head is harder than hand".
A child past puberty must take a ritual
Walk to adulthood. This is accomplished
in a group of between 4 and 7. They walk
from one camp to another usually a
minimum five days. Sivao is a wilderness
planet, so although there are often
trails, there are many hazards, floods,
rockfalls, "slashbacks" (a
large predator, looks like Terran
sabertooth. For those of us who didin't
know Terra refers to Earth.). If one in
the group does not make it, all fail. If
all make it, they are considered adults,
at which time they choose their own name.Names.
On Sivao, names MEAN something. All
sivaoans have a first name, like
Sharptooth, or Winding Path, followed by
"to-" and then the name of the
camp they go to each year to celebrate
Festival. (Festival is never fully
explained in the book, so we may have to
create one if we decide to have
our characters actually celebrate it.) So
an adult Sivaoan's name would be
something like Fetchstorm to-Srallansre
or Brightspot to-Ennien. (These
are actual characters) Children have the
name they are given, usually
something descriptive like WhiteWhisker
or TooLongTail, and the "to-
wherever" of their mother, until
they are old enough to Walk. After
successful completion of their Walk, they
are free to choose their adult
name and whatever "to-" they
wish. A child will say "When I have
MY
name..." like a human kid will say
"When I grow up"
Eeaiaoans have similar names, except that
being away from Sivao, they say
"OF-Ennien" or OF- Vensre"
instead of TO-Ennien, etc.
